We visited Ox on a Monday evening. The place was full but our wait was less than 15 minutes. There is a bar our back where you can have drinks and snacks while you wait The menu is all a la cart. Prepare yourself for a bit of sticker stock. The recommendation seems to be one side per person. Small... More

We were a group of eight celebrating a birthday. The food here is phenomenal and the service matches the level of the food. It's an a la carte menu and you will want to try everything that you can. The following were highlights: clam chowder with smoked bone marrow and jalapeno, brussel sprouts (that's right brussel sprouts), asparagus, sea scallops... More

I was in Portland on business from Chicago and my host said " I want to take you somewhere special". He definitely delivered on that statement. Started the meal with an assortment of fresh oysters. Many choices for salads prior to the entrée. The selection in preparation of various meats was outstanding. Ordered the homemade chorizo and skirt steak. The... More

How could this be number 71? We arrived only 2 days after OX won Best NW chef from James Beard, and there was much evidence on why OX is the place to beat. We took in the advice of our server and the chef on the dishes to have, and the delivery was sublime. Eating at the bar in front... More

Everything was wonderful about this meal until it took 30 minutes to be asked about dessert and another 15 minutes for the check. Must eat the rib eye! Also recommend scallops and risotto.

Have had drinks twice in the bar (garage) behind restaurant. Very quaint. The food in the restaraunt was some of the best I have ever experienced in Portland. We ate family style. Ribeye (deliciously prepared), Side dishes; carrots with amazing spices, brussel sprouts also unusually and deliciously prepared. Hominey, which I hated as a kid, was prepared so tasty that... More

My cousin arranged dinner here after her graduation. We were there with a pretty large group but they made everything seamless. We loved the menu and the drink selection.

Don't miss the clam chowder at this popular Argentinian inspired restaurant. The food was very good -but be prepared - the wait was pretty long.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner-- grilled ruby trout and grilled local lamb shoulder chop-- cooked perfectly. The endive salad with pear and chorizo was delicious as was the crusty bread with chimichurri. We also loved the dessert we ordered -- brown butter hazelnut tart with honey camomile ice cream and honey comb candy. The service was excellent.
