Comfortable and inviting decor, with a small but varied menu made up of local ingredients from the region.

Good service and ordinarily a great meal but not a good value. One small duck leg was about $30; and two large ribs with little meat and not that tender were about the same price. Appetizers were excellent.

Fried chicken coq au vin was so good, so rich, beautifully constructed, rustic, unpretentious. A transmogrified classic-Portland style-that made me smile with each bite. Lemon verbena ice cream and raspberry sorbet--perfect June 2 summer birthday dessert. Waiter selected bourbon for my husband--nice pick! We loved...More

I thought Portland had gone beyond the stage of chefs trying to be impressive by making their dishes so overly complex. But not here. Way overly stretched to impress diners. I think the chicken in my coq au vin was deep fried, but it is...More

I hosted a group upstairs for a corporate lunch. As we know, heat rises and it became very hot up there. They brought in fans for us. I thought they handled it well.
