Stopped in at Hobos. Very nice place. Had the Clams and Linguine. It was excellent. Clams were fresh and there was plenty of them. I really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. Great place for a quiet meal. They have a piano player who was great.

I've been a customer of Hobos for some years now. Atmosphere great. Food very good. Ambiance great. Bartenders indifferent. Service indifferent. If anything does this place in it won't be anything other then the service. Other than that, I'll continue being a customer but wish that they'd work on the service aspect.

We stopped in after taking a tour of the Portland Shanghai Tunnels. The tour actually begins in the restaurant. The service was very good and the food was as well. Three of us had prime rib, which the serve said they are known for. I can see why. It was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and served au jus with... More

Weird beginning. Sat at bar because they looked busy ordered drinks and asked bartender about a table. She said it would be a while. A little while later we heard a server tell a customer the back was open and you could set yourself. Funny lots of tables. Once we choose dinner it same quickly. Food was good, hot and... More

We went to Hobo's to meet up for the tour of the Portland Underground. While waiting we had a few drinks at the bar. Rusty was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommended for a quick drink and good company.

We went to Hobo's thinking it was a gay bar, but it is in fact a charming old restaurant with a very nice bar. We were in a week night and it was not busy. The bartender was extremely friendly and came to our table to help and also to chat, and he did the same with all the other... More

While waiting for our tour to start, the bartender fixed us up with drinks. I had a fizzy drink in a champagne style glass. We didn't order any food, so I can't attest to that, but I can say that the serve was good. Bathrooms are clean and stock. The tour was fun!

Looking around for a place to eat in Portland after 5 pm is a tough job. Everything seems to close down. Hobo's was open and had a very dark interior. After entering and checking out the menu, I found it was a delightful surprise. The happy hour menu and the Lounge menu and the main dinner menu were all available... More

I stopped for a quick drink and a bite and was pleasantly surprised. I sat at the bar since I was solo. Although Dave the bartender was incredibly busy, he was nice, quick to serve me and very attentive. I just had the nachos which were loaded with stuff and delicious! I'll go back another time.

No KIDS allowed. The food was great, drinks were great and it has an upscale atmosphere. Great spot to get a way from the hustle of Portland. No crying babies ensures a sensual atmosphere.
