Absolutely the MOST FRIENDLY, ACCOMMODATING service I've ever experienced! This is basically a bar with tables, but the food far surpasses pub grub. The New York City-priced food is fresh and crammed onto a single plate; salad and all. The halibut daily special was outrageously good! The crab plate dull, but shelled for you. Portions are generous. Have to say... More

The food here was amazing! Original steamers. I had the Ciopino on fettuccine along with a side order of steamed clams. Extremely small restaurant. Not for large parties. 2 sit at the bar areas and a few small tables. Seafood only so don't go if you are looking for meat. Service was excellent too!

We ate 5 dinners on the Newport Bayfront. The first 4 nights we walked right by Sharks, not sure if it was open, nothing to really draw us in. I looked at TripAdvisor for our last evening in town and read the wonderful reviews about Sharks, so we decided to try it. You could say we saved the best for... More

Finally, a seafood restaurant that has healthy selections and is not based upon fried fish with french fries and coleslaw! I loved this place. The owner was the friendliest, service was fantastic and the selections of food on the menu, varied and wonderfully tasting and healthy. I had the Dungeness Crab which was already picked out of the shell which... More

Delicious food and friendly service. They have a unique set up for diners. We ate at the front bar where we could interact with the chef and watch him prepare food in interesting steamer units.

I took the advise of other TripAdvisors and had dinner at Sharks after a day of sightseeing in the Newport area... Wow! The food was A-Mazing and the owners charming and fun. The local fishermen stopped by during our visit and brought the fresh catch of the day right through the front door and to the chef. It's a small... More

We drove from Vancouver, Canada down to SF having oysters wherever we could. This place produced by far the best - fresh, tasty and BIG. Family set up, just open in the evenings. Great happy service and frequented by locals.

We visited Sharks on a very quiet Sunday evening. The waitress was very pleasant, attentive and helpful. She recommended the Seafood Cobb salad which was completely unique and different from anything I've ever had. Sounded odd but it was delicious. My hubby had the cioppini and thought it was delicious as well. Overall it was a very good experience and... More

Shark's is a small family operation that uses single-serve steam cookers developed for submarines which, as the chef says, are the perfect "soft" heat for seafood. The resulting flavors and textures are noticeably better than most other restaurant seafood, at least that we've had. We shared a shrimp cocktail, my sweetie had the cioppino and I had the curry -... We have been visiting Newport for decades and somehow have always passed right by this tiny little restaurant. It is easy to miss just as you turn the curve onto the Bay front, but don't pass it by. Sharks is small, but they offer big flavors. We stopped in for the Lemon Grass Curry fish stew and the Gumbo fish... More
