Make a reservation and share a table with four. The meal is fixed, always truly excellent and several courses. While you wait, you play a story-telling game to get to know the others around your table. "Two truths and a lie," and your table mates have to guess which is the lie. Can you fool them with your creative imagination?... More

This restaurant is located in the lower level of the hotel. Be careful during the decent because of the over hang that could knock out a tall person. Although the area is not fancy it could use more in terms of decorating to make it blend in with the theme of the hotel. Tables are arranged so that six people... More

Their muffins, fruit and quiche type dishes are outstanding for breakfast. Mimosas and bloody marys are great too!

Don't let the age of the hotel in which this restaurant is housed fool you. The food is superb, fresh, and imaginative. I've seen the cook go outside to cut the herbs just before serving the varied courses, which include soup, salad, warm just-baked breads, a vegetable side cooked just right, four entrees from which to choose and memorable desserts.... I've eaten here on six different occasions and never been disappointed. Seating is at a table with others and I've been amazed at the eclectic mix of people at each table. One does NOT need to be a hotel guest to dine here, but everyone has to make reservations hours ahead as everything served is FRESH! In fact, I've often... More

The Sylvia Beach Hotel is on the list of 1000 Places Before You Die and justifiably so. I'll review the hotel elsewhere. The restaurant is amazing. You choose in advance among 2 or 3 entrees and the rest of the meal is served family style. You're seated at tables of 6,8, or 10 and are invited to play "2 Truths... More

You have five choices for dinner. You call in the morning which you have your reservation to choose your dinner. You have a seven course dinner including desert. The fun part, you are assigned to a large table of eight. You meet very interesting people from around the world as well as local. This is my wife's favorite place.

Every evening at 7pm (with 2 seatings on weekends) the Sylvia Beach Hotel serves up family style dinners. After days of fried seafood, you'll want to have the fresh salmon or steak here (there is also a veggie option), several courses, some wine (for purchase) and fun conversations with strangers who love literature (since the hotel's rooms are named after...
