I was not overly impressed with this restaurant. I ordered 3 beef enchiladas with beans and sauce. There was not very much of a taste to it and it was quite dry. The portion was a decent size and the price was very reasonable.

Very good Mexican food for a small community. If Mexico City was in my town of 80,000 it still be one of our top choices to eat at. Our food came out hot and was very good. Many Mexican restaurants over load the plate with beans and rice to fill you up. Our side portions were small which allowed for... More

First, the chips! They're made in house without any lard, in what the owner calls his "secret way". They are crispy and very flavorful and not greasy at all. The salsa is so-so. Very very mild. I ordered the "Acapulco Enchilada" and was VERY pleased with it. Very generously stuffed with bay shrimp and fresh pico de gallo, they weren't... More

The restaurant was beautifully decorated and while some have remarked about the lack of windows to the outside, I thought it was clever to have windows overlooking an indoor cacti garden. On to the food. The chips were fresh and tasty, as was the salsa. I ordered the enchilada with chile verde and taco. The green sauce was mouthwateringly good---garlicly... More

I see there are mixed reviews. However, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Oregon. I am not a fancy food person. I like the real deal. I am originally from California, teach Spanish, and have been to Mexico a few times. I love this restaurant!

This is just one review and maybe we caught it on an off night. Also I live over by Salem where there are Mexican restaurants everywhere so competition is stiff. I had the Seafood Enchiladas which were ok and other than shrimp and fish I wasn't sure what else was in it and the menu doesn't say. My wife had... More

Clean, pleasant service. The food is bland and the mild salsa is hot but uninspiring. In a pinch, it's fine but nothing to write home about. I wish I'd checked tripadvisor for recs first.

...it's never a good sign. We've passed through town and eaten here before, but have never had such a poor meal as this was: We both ordered carne asadas: the meat was grey in texture, the spanish rice appeared to have simmered for hours on a steam table. The meat was tough, tasteless and gristly. We couldn't eat more than... More

Family-run since the 1950s. If you go in for late lunch, when things are not too busy, the manager will take some time to give you the history of the place. The food is A-1, whatever you order. I live in Madras, and this is my favorite local restaurant by far.
