On a Saturday night during our stay in Joseph we had the Prime Rib Dinner that the Stubborn Mule offers on Saturday nights. One of the best prime rib dinners ever. The prime rib appeared to be close to 1# and came with mashed potatoes (other types were available), salad, a vegetable and a texas toast type offering. This dinner... More

The Thursday surf N Turf special was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended and just $28 for a couple. We've raised beef for years and are very picky about steaks. No need to worry here folks, none at all. The Prime Rib spends 6 hours in the smoker so you might want to try it as well.

When we arrived we looked around for a table. A waiter passed by us a couple of times but did not make any attempt to be helpful. We found a table and were ably assisted by our waitress. I ordered the reuben because thats what I always order. Sweety got a burger. The portions were enormous but ... My reuben... More

The Stubborn Mule pub is one of the better places to eat in Joseph. We have eaten there many times and is usually good and prices fair. The pub is on the main drag across from the Indian Lodge. Pool tables food music it's all good. Be cool have fun.

Definitely a place to go back to. It is a casual atmosphere but the food is great. The menu has a lot of great choices. I have tried many and have not been disappointed yet. 5 stars from me.

We left. However, if you like crowds, noise and big steaks, you might like this place and hit them on a night when the wait staff are not exhausted the food might be good.

The town was busy, and this place was not, so we stopped. The waitress ignored us most of the time once our food arrived. The food was decent but nothing too exciting.

Recommended place for us out of state visitors. We drove 3 hours to get to Joseph and were hungry to say the least. We stopped in around noon on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. We sat in the bar area. Great service! Got our drink order immediately and we placed our food order not too long after that.... More

We arrived to find a fairly large group already eating - but space was found and drinks quickly arrived. (Good beers in here, by the way, with a good descriptive beer menu). Food is also good and very substantial, no starters needed. Finally, 10/10 to our waitress who was running to keep up with demand - but she said that... More
