Best burger in town.A bit of a wait to sit down but should be better when construction is done. Outside seating is nice and the prices are fare

Patio has a nice chilled out, atmosphere, service was friendly if not a tad on the slow side, burger was average, bun was super fresh, lots of lettuce and the like, patty was thin and without any real flavor, onion rings were really good if...not overdone.More

The wife had a craving for a burger and since that's what the place is known for we decided to give it a shot. It was busy on a Saturday night for dinner, so there was a bit of a wait. The burger was nothing...to write home about. service was sloppy. My burger that I asked for "No Onions" had them. There were items on the menu they were out of -Fish and Chips as well as the Reserve Pinot Noir. First Impressions are important and they didn't impress.More

I had heard people like this place so I decided to have lunch there with friends. Patio seating was fine, space heaters kept things a good temp, the wait staff was fine too. The issue was the food; I had their big burger which was...just 2 patties on a bun that promptly fell apart, the beef patties were flavorless and very disappointing. I also tried the onion rings which were extremely overcooked and tasted like something purchased at cash and carry. Same went for my friends food, very disappointing, I doubt I will go backMore

Our first visit and we had a couple with us, socially distant and masked as appropriate. 50% capacity and great service. My cheeseburger was average but the half and half fries and onion rings were great! Good ambiance in these days if eating outside.

Well run tavern in a pretty setting. This is a nice family run roadside tavern. Food is hearty, fresh and the service is pleasant and quick. Well adapted to the needs of virus avoidance.

Our last trip was July 2019. We have been going since 1980. We have always loved it. It’s even nicer now, as the hats are always beautifully clean and so too is the vintage style tavern and bathrooms. You have made improvements over the years,...but have retained the great food and history. We both bought t shirts last July before we headed to Texas for our final destination. I bought both hubby and I t shirts, but I lost mine, Would you sell me one and ship it to me? A very nicely designed one and good quality cotton too. I am sad we had to leave Oregon, and I will always miss your tavern.More

ahhh...what is the deal with all the good reviews for this place anyway, I just don’t get it? We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and half fries half onion rings, so let me start by saying I totally agree with the poster that said greasy spoon but...do not agree with her 5 star rating, but a greasy spoon in my opinion does not constitute a good place to eat...the fries were so soaked in grease they were limp and brown not good AT all, and the onion rings weren’t much better although they were a little crisp but not by much. The burgers were nothing really to write home about. I didn’t really care for the mayo/mustard sauce they put on the burgers cause I am a 1000 island dressing type of gal. We have not tried anything else here. However the setting is a pretty spot and the workers here were very nice and accommodating so I gave them a 20% tip on our to go order cause their attitudes are appreciated. I would come back for a drink on the patio though if ever I am down this way again. Sorry guys I was hoping for more.More

I went to the Helvetia Tavern today and there were two groups that had dogs with them in the outside patio area. One happened to be a big Bernice Mtn dog.
