I had the special -- Salisbury Steak over garlic mashed potatoes. It was delicious! I also ordered a Mint Julep and it was the worst. A properly made Mint Julep has crushed fresh mint on the bottom, crushed ice, a generous shot of whiskey and a splash of simple syrup over. There was very little mint and there couldn't have... My friend and sister wanted to go eat at this place so I went along with them. It started as a long wait which was ok since it was nighttime. But when the food came out, my sisters fried catfish tasted like it came out of the water. We wanted to see what the waiter can do for us and... More

Our group of 8 showed up around 7:15 and were seated after about a ten minute wait. The host was friendly and our server very cheerful and efficient. Food was quite good, and everyone had something different. We ordered two baskets of Soul Fries for the table and they were awesome! Best variety of side dishes I've seen, ranging from... More

We are originally from the southeast, so we know and love our soul food. In Eugene we've had a hard time finding a place like home, but this is it!! The atmosphere is great - very friendly and laid back, and the food is awesome!! Great outdoor area for the summers, too!

Authentic Southern cooking. Ribs and all the sides come together for a taste experience seldom found outside the deep south. Wood-fired smokers outside in the back yard draw people in from blocks away. Tantalizing smells that pay off with delicious tastes inside. Full bar, eclectic decor, wonderful friendly staff. Pappa has passed on, but his spirit and his soul (food)... More

Took about 30 minutes to get a seat and order but it's well worth the wait. Drinks are strong and food is delicious. Definitely a southern style restaurant if that's what your looking for.

I recently moved to Arizona and the thing I miss most about Eugene is Papa's! So good. Very reasonably priced, as well.

We came to Papa's Soul Food on the recommendation of friends, and we couldn't have had a better meal! We came on a very busy evening but had no trouble getting a table. The service was good but the food was a definite highlight. The menu is so extensive that I am itching to go back. I had the fried... More

Summer or winter, the food is consistent, but the atmosphere is completly different. When the sun is shining, the outside deck is the place to be! When it's raining best to be inside. Summer weekends include soul and/or blues in the garden!

First time at Papa's and we will be back. Service was amazing and the food blow my mind. Pulled pork sandwich my husband said was best he ever had. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. And don't forget the southern kool-aid fizzy cocktail to pair with your food. We are happy and stuffed.
