This is my third visit over several years, and Yuzu doesn't disappoint. There are excellent Japanese beers on tap at very reasonable prices, and the soups . . . Oh My! I've tried several different ones, and they are superb. I particularly like the donkatsu udon soup (noodles, great broth, some vegetables and seaweed, and two lovely thin slices of... More

Dificult to find with tinted windows and the name only stenciled on the door. About eleven types of ramen most with a silky pork broth. One vegan and one miso flavored. Six types of rice balls and about 12 appetizers including a whole squid either fried or grilled. The Japanese curry ramen was great as were the rice balls. 4... More

A friend recommended this ramen store. It was also listed as the #2 place to eat ramen in Portland in a recent news article. Food - Amazing. Gyoza were the best in town. My wife got gyudon and I got Kanuki Ramen. Both were extremely tasty and much like the food we got used to eating in Japan. There was... More

We had heard about this place so I treated my wife to a birthday dinner. As we were married in and lived in Japan for two years, we are always looking for good Japanese food. You will find it here. She had the tonkatsu dish (the tonkatsu stuffed with mint leaves and with a plum sauce). I had the grilled... More

The duck small plate, grilled squid with a delicious ginger dipping sauce, and an alternative to traditional tonkatsu were really very tasty. The pork cutlet was stuffed with mint and the dipping sauce was plum rather than the typical soy style. The sake selection is amazing and the explanations very useful.

If you can find the restaurant, then you have found a gem. Yazu is hidden in a strip mall, and the only clue that there is a eatery inside is the tiny name on the door. The menu is extensive so it is hard to choose. The food doesn't disappoint. We loved the soup. If you enjoy beer, an ever-changing... More

As others have mentioned, hard to find, but worth the effort. Went with a friend for dinner. We split an order of excellent gyoza. I had the Kakuni Ramen. My friend had the Tonkutsu Ramen. The broth was amazing, the chunks of pork belly were small chunks of heaven. The place is small and hidden away in a strip mall.... More

Yuzu recently added Anago Don to its menu & it is superb! This dish consists of grilled sea eel on white rive, some nori seaweed plus their secret sauce. As usual, the service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
