Tavolo food was the star. It was a packed Saturday night with a few coupled tables, as well as large parties, including prom-goers. Our waitstaff was attentive and delivered drinks and food timely. There was excitement in the air of this dimly lit atmosphere and the food was ah-mazing. We started with the caprese flatbread (which was okay), bruschetta, and... More

First meal was dinner on a Tuesday night. I had sausage and peppers, and it was delicious! The spicy san marzano sauce made it extra tasty! Hubby got the roasted pork tenderloin and he was very pleased, as well. We had the bread with oil/balsalmic vinagrette almost immediately upon sitting, and we ordered Italian Meatballs as an appetizer. Very tasty... More

Our group of 6 did not have reservations but there was a table upstairs (it is small 5-6 tables on each floor -so make reservations). Crispy chicken marsala is large over risotto but very light on sauce. Home made pasta but very little choices on menu, no Caesar salad, wines were on the expensive side ($14/glass and up).

Two friends and I recently went to the Winesday dinner, held on the first Wednesday of every month, at Tavolo's. The first course was a Roasted Beet and Farro Salad with a balsamic reduction, lemon vinaigrette gorgonzola and walnuts paired with Vallevo Trebiano D'Abruzzo. The salad and the wine were both spot on. I could easily imagine sitting on the... More

Went for dinner with friends. The place wasn't to busy for a Saturday night. The food was good the service terrible. It took forever to get anything. Slow slow slow. Ordered coffee forgot the cream and sugar then we had to ask for a spoon. We were asked did we want more bread still waiting, ordered a beer 15 minutes... More

Slow service just added to mediocre food. The sausage and peppers along with the pasta sauce ruined otherwise good macaroni. The rest of my colleagues meals didn't look all that good either. Atmosphere was solid, but it wasn't enough to make up for the other shortcomings.

This is a small quiet Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown. The food is good. I really like the lamb bolognese with pasta. Good salads too.
