The food was fair but the store has fudge that is fantastic! Nice atmosphere, small store to purchase t shirts, etc. Amish bread with meals was really good.

This place never misses. Always good. Try the Roast beef dinner. The fried pies are a must. your waitress can get them for you and bag them up for home.

have driven by several times on my way to Texas, parking lot was always full, so I thought I would give it a try. Maybe I was expecting more, not amish meal or food, simply the same type of food available at a cracker barrel, my wife thought her roast beef was frozen and had been heated. Thus disappointed because... More

Dear sir, we cook everything from scratch! Are roast beef is not frozen! We are sorry you don't feel we measured up to your expectations. Our mash potatoes are done fresh everyday as well as all our food. Our pies are homemade too from Amish ! We do appreciate you stopping by and checking us out More

I guess I was expecting too much. I thought the "home style" cooking would be better than it was. I had the Chicken and Dressing and it was pretty bland and tasteless even with their chicken gravy, as were the mashed potatoes. The carrots were okay. The peach cider and the staff were all very nice, though. Maybe another entree... More

We stopped here on our way to visit family in East TX. Got bread & butter pickles, pickled beets, and a strawberry rhubarb pie. Impulse purchased a 4-pack of cinnamon rolls. MAN were we a hit at the in-laws! They cinnamon rolls were excellent, the pie was too. We also got some hot pepper cheese curds and jalapeño beef sticks.... More

Overpriced! Service was terrible. The waiter's fingernails were filthy. It took forever for our food to come out and there were less than a dozen folks in the restaurant. The store was interesting but expensive. I will not go back.

Dear sir, we are sorry you had a bad experience. If you came by on Saturday we had a new cook in the kitchen. Most of our employees could not get to work because of the flooding. We apologize for the slowness . We hope you will try us again!!! Thank you More

I've been waiting years to try this place. Every time we'd come through town our timing has been off: either too late and they're closed or a Monday (they're closed), or we'd already eaten. Today was the first time in years that we arrived at lunchtime so we gave it a try. The staff are wonderful and friendly and I'm... More

A typical, but small Amish restaurant, good homemade soups, good breads, good sandwiches, a few salads and all created in a homemade fashion. Service is usually quite fast. A good selection of other Amish retail items such as cheeses, frozen dinners, cookies, bread and candy.

The store may have been more Amish than the restaurant which was pretty straightforward American. You know you are not really in Amish territory when the walls are covered with war pictures and memorabilia. The pancakes and the French toast were both good choices.Eggs were real at least.

Pamela V, Manager at Amish Country Store, responded to this review

Thanks for coming by our store. We get all our products from the Amish 30 minutes away from us! Everything in our store is made by Amish locally or from Ohio . So please enjoy all the Amish goodies and come back. We do make our fried pies and fudge. Please come see us again More
