We didn't notice the flies when we first went in, but once our food came, they became an absolute nousance. The food itself was passable. I ordered the pitite sirloin and my dining partner ordered the Tool Pusher pizza. First, I was served my salad,...which was fine. The dressing was very thick. I'd ordered the blue cheese, and it was so thick I had to scoop it out of its little plastic serving cup, but it was all right. Once the food came, we were hopeful because the descriptions in the menu sounded yummy. The bell peppers and onion on the pizza were undercooked, the result of the veg being put on the dough raw instead of parcooked to remove their rawness. Other than that, it was an acceptable pizza, though the crust was thin and not strong enough to support its toppings when my dining partner pulled it from the whole. The peak in the middle of the pizza needed support, so it required two hands to eat. Using both hands meant my dining partner could not swat at the multiple flies who buzzed around and landed on some of the plates before beng successfully shooed. The pitite sirloin was seasoned and cooked well, but there was a tendon in my piece, which made it difficult to manage into bites. The green beans were done well in my opinion, but undercooked, according to my dining partner. The multiple televisions made it a bit difficult to have a conversation, so we just mostly sat and ate our food. Eventually, the pizza had cooled sufficiently to (kind of) gin some structural integrity. We boxed the half pizza to take with us. The service was acceptable, the server friendly, refilling our water cups without our asking. So I left her a good tip, because the service was all right. She could not control what happens in the kitchen, and I don't expect her to. The multiple televisions aroud the room were visually distracting. We thought the photographs of Michael Jordan were funny and indicative. If we are to pass through Elk City again, I would probably not stop here for the night again.More
