Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We didn't notice the flies when we first went in, but once our food came, they became an absolute nousance. The food itself was passable. I ordered the pitite sirloin and my dining partner ordered the Tool Pusher pizza. First, I was served my salad,...which was fine. The dressing was very thick. I'd ordered the blue cheese, and it was so thick I had to scoop it out of its little plastic serving cup, but it was all right. Once the food came, we were hopeful because the descriptions in the menu sounded yummy. The bell peppers and onion on the pizza were undercooked, the result of the veg being put on the dough raw instead of parcooked to remove their rawness. Other than that, it was an acceptable pizza, though the crust was thin and not strong enough to support its toppings when my dining partner pulled it from the whole. The peak in the middle of the pizza needed support, so it required two hands to eat. Using both hands meant my dining partner could not swat at the multiple flies who buzzed around and landed on some of the plates before beng successfully shooed. The pitite sirloin was seasoned and cooked well, but there was a tendon in my piece, which made it difficult to manage into bites. The green beans were done well in my opinion, but undercooked, according to my dining partner. The multiple televisions made it a bit difficult to have a conversation, so we just mostly sat and ate our food. Eventually, the pizza had cooled sufficiently to (kind of) gin some structural integrity. We boxed the half pizza to take with us. The service was acceptable, the server friendly, refilling our water cups without our asking. So I left her a good tip, because the service was all right. She could not control what happens in the kitchen, and I don't expect her to. The multiple televisions aroud the room were visually distracting. We thought the photographs of Michael Jordan were funny and indicative. If we are to pass through Elk City again, I would probably not stop here for the night again.More

I must say , this place has really good food. I expected basic bar food but was pleasantly surprised. So much so, we planned our return trip to stop here for dinner. The lunch on the way down to Arizona was very good, dinner on...the return trip back to Chicago was even better. It’s elevated with interesting options. The staff is super friendly and helpful, great atmosphere. If you are staying, the drink menu looks great and very reasonably priced with numerous specials.More

Sunday was a rough day. I am originally from Elk City and we traveled to lay my aunt to rest. We were starving and wanted to eat. I was hesitant about eating in Elk but my sister told me she had heard of this place...from other family members. I agreed to go there and thank goodness I did. Man the atmosphere was very pleasant and our waitress was the funniest and very friendly. I and my sister ordered the Surf and Turf, and the 2 teenagers ordered the Boomtown Nachos. Surprisingly my steak was perfect and tasted great, the sides were also just as good, but I have to say that the Nachos stole the show. WOW those are very good with the homemade chips. I later visited the bathroom and found it to be very clean and stocked, making this the best restaurant experience I have ever had in Elk City. I am so happy that Elk has such a wonderful place to eat. Boomtown Rocks!More

We stopped in for a couple of beers and appetizers. The appetizers were fine. The big thing is how friendly they are toward people they don't know. What a great find when you are on a road trip. See you soon.

Neat little sports themed restaurant. A little older inside and out, but food is pretty good. Salads, sandwiches, burgers all great. Service was great—we visited twice and had Angel as our waitress both times! She doesn’t let your cup get empty! It’s a casual, down...to earth place and great for lunch.More

You can get barbeque and all things spicy here. I asked before I ordered but my food contained a spicy spread. I couldnt eat it and switched with my husband. You must be very specific when ordering. We've eaten here before as its convenient to...the interstate.More

Boomtown has a good menu and the food is consistently good. I wish that they would bring back the mini-loaf of bread that they served in the past. The drink menu is extensive and you get good portions. The service can be spotty at times.

Asked for 2 ice waters and a sweet tea along with a Corona. Waitress brought out the first 3. Asked about the Corona and she said "oh, I thought I heard you say something but ignored it. This is the first 5 minutes...Bread is served...with butter. Waitress asked if we wanted salads before our meals..... and our appetizer....asked if we wanted eggs and cucumbers on your salad and we said yes. Didnt get either. Ordered the 10 oz sirloins one med rare and one med. Those were awesome. Bacon cheese burger was great. My recommendation is to order to go and not eat in the establishment.More
