We were really tired and hungry when we arrived for a reunion. This restaurant got good reviews so we tried it. Good choice! Service was very good and prompt. The food delicious. I had chicken fried steak - the best I've ever had. I don't plan on going back to elk city but would definitely eat here if I did.

We were stopping in Elk City on our journey on R66. Staying at the La Quinta hotel we asked the guy on check in for a recommendation. He suggested Prairie Fire and I am so glad he did. Really small intimate restaurant set in an old railroad building with an surprisingly wide selection of food. Unlike most places in the... More

Stopped off in Elk City and clerk at the Best Western suggested this place. I was traveling alone so I asked to be seated in the bar instead of the lively dining room. The bar is small, but the bartender friendly and the food service quick and efficient. Had the chicken breast sandwich at the tender's recommendation. It was excellent!... More

Happened to stumble upon this restaurant when searching Elk City for somewhere to eat and I'm glad we did! The hospitality and food were equally amazing! The building used to be the old train station and has so much history! Take a look at the ceiling...it's incredible!

If you haven't been to prairie fire restaurant then your missing out. It's in the old train station in elk Oklahoma. The food is well proportioned and at a fair price. It's right off Route 66 and has plenty of parking even for large trucks. If your in town and want to dine in history. Then you need to make... More

This is a great little restaurant in Elk City!!! Husband had steak sandwich with green fried tomatoes and I had the blueberry salmon salad! Both were AMAZING! The decor was very fun, an old train station. Completely worth the stop!

Felt like an invited guest...Food was memorable...panko coated fried goat cheese with killer jalapeño raspberry sauce...sirloin sandwich and BLT sandwich-- both unique and flavorful...and then the pecan cobbler with vanilla ice cream made us want to lick the plate....Thanks, Amy, for a fulfilling meal and your kind recognition of our 35th anniversary.

We arrived 15 minutes before they closed the noon meal and they were very gracious in sitting us. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese, I the chopped steak with mushroom gravy and fried green tomatoes. We both were knocked back on our heels. I have no idea who prepared these meals or the recipes for them,... More

The desk clerk at the Hampton Inn recommended Prairie Fire. What a pleasant surprise. We had an excellent fried goat cheese appetizer. I had the special, fried trout on rice, which was as good as I have had; moist and delicious. Large portion also. My wife had the large avocado chicken caeser salad which she loved. It is worth getting... More
