We had heard that students from the local culinary school staff the kitchen, and saw great reviews so we expected great things. The menu offerings were plainer, and cheaper, than expected. I enjoyed the salmon dish. The other dishes were not memorable. The server did not show a strong knowledge of the menu, and was not as attentive as one... More

I was there many years ago when this place opened up and I found it to be some what expensive by appalachian standards. Over the modest level of financial means that accompanies and characterizes many residents throughout their daily lives here. Yes, I do agree that this restaurant is a worth while training center for culinary arts students enrolled in... More

Nelsonville does have a small college, and with the students in culinary courses running the restaurant, they produce excellent... More

Rhapsody is a hidden gem of a restaurant run by the Hocking College Culinary Arts program. The dinners are wonderfully prepared and the atmosphere is romantically charming.

A hidden gem in Nelsonville. Charming atmosphere and excellent menu. Pub menu Wed and Thu, Fine casual dinning Fri and Sat and Brunch on Sun. Far more than expected. Well worth the trip from Columbus especially if you are going to be in the area. Went for Sunday brunch but planning on going back to try the other menus. Hardest... More

Whenever we travel to Nelsonville to visit our son, we try to get reservations at Rhapsody. This restaurant is superb in every respect. Often they feature live music to make the evening even more special. The seasonal drink specials are a treat. On our last visit, our son's fiancé ordered a mead cocktail, which isn't available at most restaurants. Our... More

Rhapsody uses locally sourced organic fresh ingredients to create creative Appalachian cuisine. It is managed by hospitality restaurant management students from Hocking College. I have never been disappointed by a meal or the service. Good wine selection and a variety of beers and cocktails. There is usually live music that makes for a romantic and special atmosphere.
