First the charm...quaint "pockets" of tables/booths and the historical artifacts mesh with meandering dining areas/options and the sound of soft jazz permeates all sections. Then the food...fresh, innovative, diverse and flavorful. And finally the service...off-the-charts engaging, genuine and attentive care (thank you Casey!) made for an unforgettable Valentine's dinner. To highlight the evening...we enjoyed the most delicious Baked Alaskan for... More
Your opinion of this place will vary greatly depending on what you order. My husband had the lamb chops & raved about them. I had french onion soup, heavy on the worcestershire, & a steak salad. DEFINITELY disappointing & NOT what you want to order here. It was served on a plate the size of a sandwich plate & extremely... More
The old Plantation Inn is now Degage's and it's wonderful. The food is all fresh and local and with the jazz playing in the background, the atmosphere is fantastic. The food was wonderful and brought to the table hot. A good variety of choices, this place works for anybody, children included. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.
My husband and I went to Degage for dinner and it was his first time here. We sat at the bar, got drinks quickly from a very pleasant bartender. My husband ordered french onion soup that was really rich and had a tomato component. He had pork shoulder for dinner that he loved! It was served on a cutting board... More
I visited recently with a group of women for a holiday party. Our private space in the restaurant was very nice. The menu was pretty limited though. I ordered the fried chicken dinner. It was plenty of chicken (and it was very tasty), but the sides were very slim, though again, very tasty. I asked about ginger beer and I... More
The prices at Dégagé definitely do not match the quality of the food. The descriptions on the menu sound wonderful, but unfortunately, the dishes didn't have the bold flavors I was expecting. I had the orange and coffee BBQ chicken. I could taste the orange in the sauce, but there was no spice or richness to the sauce, which I... More
We went on a Saturday Night at 7:00 pm the parking lot was barely used so I went in with not the best hope. However we were seated for our reservation which wasn't needed quickly the hostess got our drinks and then we waited quite some time for our waitress to come once she came I asked if they had... More
Pros: Easy accessible Easy to get seated Pig wings (a pork niblet appetizer) were good...really good actually.. Cool atmosphere Cons: I am not sure about the menu. Every thing is "bacon this and bacon that" -Not enough bread in the bread order -Kind of pretentious atmosphere -Service...I felt hurried and the server had to "check" when I asked him several... The building dates back to 1836. It's a historic landmark in Maumee. It's been a number of different establishments, and there are urban legends about ghosts who haunt the old building. There's a bar area when music is the keynote. Warning: They charge a cover, even if you are just dining, and frankly, the music is marginal. The menu needs... More
