We have been here twice now. First was afternoon tea. I'm a decaf coffee drinker and find it hard sometimes to get a good one, but the barista here knows there stuff. My husband had a latte which was equally good. Because it was my birthday, I treated myself to a passionfruit sponge. Yum, I just about inhaled it. A lovely light sponge filled with a custard with a secret centre of passionfruit. Lovely light passionfruit icing. All in all, a lovely combination.
Next morning we were back for breakfast. I had the pancakes of the day which was 2 delightfully fluffy pancakes topped with fresh berries and maple syrup. My husband just had bacon and eggs which were perfectly cooked to his liking. He had a freshly squeezed orange juice and I had a yummy watermelon juice.
The staff are so friendly and very attentive. When my husband rang in advance to check a few details, he found Amy very knowledgeable.
We would highly recommend MadCowes to anyone, and if you have to wait due to COVID-19 restrictions do, or get a takeaway to enjoy across the road on the beach.
Just to reiterate, any barista that can get a good crema or any crema for that matter, on a decaf, knows their business.

Constantly busy which is a good sign, great menu options for breakfast , very hygienic with all food like muffins and cakes in display cabinets or covered up. Quick service. Attentive staff always quickly cleaning tables. A bit hard to enjoy your meal with the long queues right up against you but thats a minor annoyance.

I went here with a few friends and the staff was very nice to set up a large table for all of us. The food was nice and the best part if the milkshake which is quite filling and super creamy. Overall a great place to visit for breakfast /lunch in Cowes. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, try and park in the side roads or the beach parking lot which is further down the road.

The burger meal was much appreciated by hubby and the chips were incredible. I ordered the halloumi breakfast and it would have been amazing but the poached eggs (which I asked to be done hard and the waiter mentioned were hard) were soft and runny. I didn’t take them back because they were busy and we had been waiting ages.
The coffee was good.
Overall a good place, but worth checking out what else is on offer in town.

We have eaten at MadCowes each time we holiday at Phillip Island, and we always look forward to next time. The food is excellent and the staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. So it's no wonder that this restaurant is so popular.

We had a 3 night stay at Cowes, Phillip Island. We went to MadCowes Cafe every Morning for Breakfast as they were the only cafe open early. The staff were polite and efficient, and the food was good. Would definitely eat there again if we stayed at Phillip Island

Had a delicious bacon egg and cheese roll and delicious fresh juice of watermelon and pineapple. It was great all of it. Service was also friendly and the food came out quickly. Would definitely go back next time I am Phillip Island.

Only ordered take away coffee here and can see why the line can be long! Great coffee compared to many places on the island that serve weak coffee. Quick service too considering how many customers there are. I can't comment on the food but setting isn't overly appealing. Very plain decor and the set up doesn't seem like it would be a relaxing breakfast given how busy it is. Although great for families and groups. Front outdoor seating available.

the atmosphere of the cafe was lovely just opposite the water and staff was friendly .The food was tasty but could have been hotter and the coffee could have been hotter ..The second cup i even asked for hot and it was still lukewarm.

We decided to try because of good reviews and clise by to where we were staying. It was vert busy so was expecting a but if a wait but our meals arrived so quickly and didn't disappoint. Eggs benedict was really good probably one of the best I've had. Husband had bacon and eggs. Couldn't fault anything. Coffee was also good as was service. Very impressed.

Really great service! Walked in and was seated immediately. Great breakfast and lunch menu and reasonably priced. Had the pancake special and it was amazing! Very generous servings and delicious food. Coffee was great too! Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to/through Cowes!

Stopped here for coffee on a beautiful sunny morning, enjoying the sea views. Very busy, bustling place where everyone seemed to know each other. Lovely cranberry muffin to go with the coffee & friendly service .

It looks like they are are currently operating the cafe out of a caravan, maybe because of renovations….
But don’t let that fool you, the coffee is lovely, the egg and bacon roll I just had was awesome and they are friendly as well.

This is our family favourite and we generally enjoy lots of brunches and lunches there. This year, they had to use a caravan because of a fire but they still offered great service and excellent morning snacks.
