We enjoyed our lunch here - the setting is fabulous, right overlooking the water. I appreciated that I could have a small serve of the crumbed scallops, which were cooked perfectly, served with great chips and a nice salad. Hubby had the battered flathead which he said was delicious. Service was great, very friendly staff. Not cheap but good value.

The location promised, the menu promised but the food did not deliver.
The prawns in the Prawn cocktail were bland and were distracted by the Greek salad it was served with. The ocean trout was over cooked but the sauce and creamy potatoes were acceptable. The raspberry pavlova was light and airy but a few fresh raspberries would have lifted the experience.
We sat out on the balcony with a beautiful view but the radio for background music did not provide the right ambience.
This restaurant is presented as up market, with white table cloths and a perfect location. In fact it is mediocre. Would not recommend or plan to return.

Not a pleasant table and 50/50 with the food.
I came alone, but I don’t think that deserves being seated looking at a baby change table and high chairs. (You think they’d throw something over it)
But no big drama if food was all great. However, the prawn spring rolls are more coating than prawn. Definately not worth $8 each, $16 for two.
The fish and salad was nice. But there were strange things like when you order a drink the wait staff are told to whip the menu away as though they don’t want you ordering a second. In fact it seems the Mgr/Owners pet hate if they’re left there on the table for you.
And the pepper and salt are in little satchets like a cafe or Motel, not what you’d expect at a seafood restaurant.

Hubby and I took my parents out for lunch to Pedro’s the restaurant, yesterday , it was the worst meal we’ve had in a long time, started off that the coffee was cold but credit to them they remade it and then credited, but the meals came out, hubby and I both had a seafood basket, the batter on the fish was so overcooked it left an acrid bitter burnt taste in our mouths, salad was limp and unappealing and the chips tasted like they had been cooked in 50 year old oil, my parents had crumbed scallops that were over cooked and rubbery, same deal with their salad and chips . Told the waitress our dissatisfaction and all we got was a “sorry about that”!
I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone😡

After explaining to the waitress that I am gluten and dairy free I ordered a fish and vegetable meal without the butter sauce or mash potato. An hour later we finally got our meal and there on top of the fish was a large 15cm round of butter. We could not wait another hour for a meal so I requested paper towel so I could speak up the butter and was given blue serviettes instead of which the color runs. On leaving and settling the bill there was not even a complimentary soft drink let alone a free meal, as I could have requested a new meal. Even when ordering a second drink my husband had to wait 15 for a soft drink. All this and only 6 tables of patrons to be served.

We have been enjoying our trip in Tasmania and have had some wonderful food here. We were so excited to come here tonight for dinner, as I was also planning to take family here in a few days.
The view was amazing and this is where it stopped. We thought we would be getting lovely fresh seafood instead of warmed up frozen food with an expensive price tag added.
The prawn spring rolls were not homemade but frozen ones with a salad that was drowned by the dressing - the tip was from a jar.
We thought the names would be nice however we were presented with cold chips, a salt soaked sauce for the poor trout with bones in it, scallops that were frozen and not presented well at all plus frozen crumbed prawns. Nothing was fresh about the meal and the vegetables served with it were soggy.
I would never recommend this place and they only received one star because you had to put a star in it - overwise it was a zero.

Had a lovely comforting bowl of seafood chowder and a 1/2 doz natural oysters. Nothing competing with this bowl of chowder. It was the perfect blend of creamy with plenty of seafood and sprinkled with fresh dill. The oysters were so fresh you could still smell the salt air. Nice place to sit back and relax for a while. Service was friendly and attentive

all a bit surreal I guess.
A week before we were in Venice sitting by the Grand Canal having a truly awful pasta marinara.
Fast forward to this week & we found Pedro’s Restaurant by the waterfront in Ulverstone during a day of exploring our new island home.
It was with some trepidation I ordered the pasta marinara with chilli but there was no need, it was great!
The serving size was perfect, the pasta cooked beautifully & was loaded with prawns, scallops & mussels.
I enjoy chilli & this was perfect for me but my wife, who although was enjoying her fisherman’s basket was very envious, would have found it a bit too hot for her palate.
We sat out on the veranda, which is well sheltered from the wind but allows you to enjoy the beach view directly in front of you.
Definitely worth a return visit!

A beautiful setting, great staff, fabulous food. The fish and chips was served with chips and an attractive salad, and the trout was really good. We met the new owner as we left, who was very nice. Great crowd in on a Friday night.

Terrible. Went for lunch with the family and we had wanted to go there for a while. Marinara was still square from the Tupperware container it came out off. Wasn’t hot at all. Oysters were defrosted as was all the seafood nothing fresh. The food presented was bad. Hands down worst seafood restaurant I’ve been too. Chef needs to try harder for the price they charge. Waited for over an hour and there were only four other tables occupied in the restaurant for crap food. Go somewhere else. Wish I took a photo of it. Extremely disappointed.

After the events of Covid it was time to check out the lunch spots again, and as in previous visits, Pedro's does not disappoint. Since Covid some new items have appeared on the menu and are all well priced, views up the Leven River are great, service is quick, friendly and attentive. The updated menu now as a good range of options to suit all tastes and the bar is well stocked with beers, wines and cider.

What a little gem. Have been to MANY seafood restaurants over the years and the Oven baked Trout with scallops n prawns was the BEST. Service also tops.
Thank you for making my day a good one.

My partner and I had the seafood platter for 2. It was amazing! Lovely fresh seafood and plenty of it - you get a 1/2 crayfish and it is a decent sized one with a lovely sauce.
I thought it was terrific value for money given the amount of fresh seafood you got.
The service was also great and the restaurant is very pleasant.
I can't wait to go back again next time I'm in the area!

This restaurant was promoted to me as "The Seafood" place. Somewhat surprisingly the range of meals goes well beyond seafood. The issue is that the quality of the meals does not live up to the price tags that accompany them.
Wine list is okay without being extensive;
Seafood dish was okay, but lacked true flavour and depth;
Lamb shanks were underdone, not melting off the bone so a little tough;
Service was pleasant and attentive.

Supposedly highly rated fish and chips place and they don’t do grilled fish!! What can someone who is gluten intolerant eat them? Try Eat on Alexandra. They have gluten free batter and grilled fish. And exceptionally friendly staff. All of these things are not available/offered at Pedros

This post is obviously for the takeaway, a completely different entity owned by different people. Eat on Alexander is a takeaway and we are a restaurant with full table service and with multiple gluten free options as well as grilled fish.
