Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful setting, great staff, fabulous food. The fish and chips was served with chips and an attractive salad, and the trout was really good. We met the new owner as we left, who was very nice. Great crowd in on a Friday night.

We have been enjoying our trip in Tasmania and have had some wonderful food here. We were so excited to come here tonight for dinner, as I was also planning to take family here in a few days. The view was amazing and this is...where it stopped. We thought we would be getting lovely fresh seafood instead of warmed up frozen food with an expensive price tag added. The prawn spring rolls were not homemade but frozen ones with a salad that was drowned by the dressing - the tip was from a jar. We thought the names would be nice however we were presented with cold chips, a salt soaked sauce for the poor trout with bones in it, scallops that were frozen and not presented well at all plus frozen crumbed prawns. Nothing was fresh about the meal and the vegetables served with it were soggy. I would never recommend this place and they only received one star because you had to put a star in it - overwise it was a zero.More

all a bit surreal I guess. A week before we were in Venice sitting by the Grand Canal having a truly awful pasta marinara. Fast forward to this week & we found Pedro’s Restaurant by the waterfront in Ulverstone during a day of exploring our...new island home. It was with some trepidation I ordered the pasta marinara with chilli but there was no need, it was great! The serving size was perfect, the pasta cooked beautifully & was loaded with prawns, scallops & mussels. I enjoy chilli & this was perfect for me but my wife, who although was enjoying her fisherman’s basket was very envious, would have found it a bit too hot for her palate. We sat out on the veranda, which is well sheltered from the wind but allows you to enjoy the beach view directly in front of you. Definitely worth a return visit!More

The worst kebab I’ve ever had in my life. I’d asked for chicken and it was full of this shredded brown mushy flesh of unknown origin

We enjoyed our lunch here - the setting is fabulous, right overlooking the water. I appreciated that I could have a small serve of the crumbed scallops, which were cooked perfectly, served with great chips and a nice salad. Hubby had the battered flathead which...he said was delicious. Service was great, very friendly staff. Not cheap but good value.More

We came back to eat at Pedro's because had eaten here twice last year. Both times we had the most incredible crayfish. So we were really excited to be having it again. What a disappointment. I don't think it was crayfish even though it was...served in the shell. The texture was that of gnocchi. Yes, soft and floury. A total waste of money. Didn't bother to tell the staff -- they know what they are serving. We'll never go back. The one star I gave here is for the service -- the waitress was very nice.More

The entrees we ordered were extremely ordinary to say the least! We were hopeful that the main course would be an improvement, alas, it was the worst meal ever served and eaten. Save your money. Would have been better off over the road at Macca’s....Overpriced to boot!More

Lunch consisted of delicious wine, friendly service and sadly overcooked pasta for a marinara. But others’ fish and chips looked good. Nice to lookout over water.

Especial meal. We had the seafood platter for two. Worth every cent. We had it with the lobster mornay. Was exquisite. Couldn't fault it. All the seafood was cooked to perfection. And we eat a lot of seafood. Thank you for a great meal and...awesome service. Actually the service was also exceptional, very accommodating. Can't say enough about this restaurant. Bloody awesome.More

Worst fish and chips ever. Had a gin and tonic - 99% tonic and a dash of gin. The only thing going for this venue is its position - right on the river.
