Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rode from Penguin to Ulverstone and wanted to have lunch here, as we had been here before, but not for a long time. So long in fact that we went to where they used to be and discovered that they had moved. We parked the bikes and sat outside as it was a lovely day and the sun was shining. I had the corn fritters and my partner had the tofu omlette, both of which were so yummy and so beautifully presented. The service was good and the staff are very friendly. We love this café and will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Thoroughly recommend a visit to this café.

I loved my coffee here on both recent visits. The food for breakfast was quite good, although I was disappointed with my lunch on another occasion. The presentation of my pork belly looked really good, however to be honest, the taste didn't stack up. The pork itself was overcooked and dry which was a shame as I think the place itself has a really nice feel, particularly on a sunny day. I'd probably still go back on another Tassie visit though as hopefully that was a 'one of'.

Had lunch here on a recent group trip to the area, and without reservations we were lucky to get seated. Typical city café, very quaint, a bit hip, what seemed like a local and trending younger crowd, with absolutely delicious food. The service was also very attentive and quick. A nice place to stop and have lunch, or maybe a coffee, while banging around Ulverston.

Sadly very disappointed after not visiting here for a while, used to love it. We’re seated and given menus and told someone would be with us shortly, after 20 mins got up to place order ourselves and told to take a seat and someone will be with us shortly, a few minutes later placed our order (from a limited menu). 20 minutes later I received my meal but not my husband, so I waited before starting mine. As it was not warm when served I started, 2 mouthfuls from finishing my husbands meal arrived ... also cold. Upon paying, was asked how we enjoyed our meals ... they made restitution by not charging for our drinks, but sadly went away not enjoying our lunch. Not sure we will venture to Ulverstone for lunch again in a while

Seated in an arctic breezeway, the menu was not the one advertised on their website, the staff spent time chatting amongst themselves and ignoring customers, the gado gado along with the bean dish were very underwhelming. There was no flavour in these dishes. The waiter with the beard seemed to be the only one working while the female was smiling at our negative comments. Not an ounce of concern at our dissatisfaction. Try somewhere else!

We Had the pork belly burger and the “corn” fritters. Pork belly was cooked well although it came with a dish of extremely watery sauce, which you wouldn’t want to pour over a burger at all. Corn fritters were just terrible. Very doughy fritter with about 4 kernels of corn and a handful of sad unloved rocket on top. Makes me sad as there is a severe lack of good food places in the North west coast.

Been here three times, once alone and twice with others. I think the staff are great, coffee great and for the mostpart, the food. However they have this thing with not cooking toast properly. Has happened twice. You would think it could be something easily fixed - just find a different way to currently being used. The other thing is they have Wifi but don’t share it with customers. Guys its 2022, for over 10 years cafes have done so for those needing to work on the laptops for example. I know so many people on week days who choose their spot for lunch or even a quick coffee depending on who has wifi. I would recommend the cafe for travellers however. Good atmosphere

Visited for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Loved our food and this is definitely our go to place for breakfast in this area- bravo on the roast sweet potato dish! We were disappointed in the service this time around- no acknowledgement by staff when we arrived as they were too busy rudely gossiping about another customer, and the girl behind the coffee machine all but went out of her way to ignore us when we tried to grab her attention to ask a question. Another staff member was leaning with her back facing the counter scrolling through her Facebook. Coffee cups cleared hastily without the offer of another even though we had only just received our meals. Not a very welcoming experience which made it pretty obvious that the owner was not around that day.

Waited an hour to get our food. The corn stacks were good according to our friends, but two of us had the beef burger. We both agreed, Don't go there folks! The buns, dry, the bacon, ok, the beef patty ok. Couldn't taste the so called macaroni cheese and have no idea what the dish of semi congealed orange cheese was supposed to do. The problem was that with all this put together the flavours just didn't marry up. One weird burger! The chips were nice. For $30.00 I would expect something special. Had a beef burger at another cafe the next day, far superior in every way, and only $15.00.

Big-city quality with the friendliness of a country town. Excellent food, coffee ☕️, staff and service. Best in town. Menu features a great selection of brunch dishes and extensive drink menu.

A great venue, very popular, friendly service: we stopped for coffee which was excellent - a good selection of gluten free cake options. Excellent. Warranted a repeat visit later in our trip to Tassie.

A busy little cafe catering mostly to locals. A great and very comprehensive menu. Food was tasty and good quality. Friendly and efficient service. In past years I have only ever had the occasional takeaway coffee from here but will definitely eat here again soon.

There was no social distancing at this cafe which made me a little uncomfortable. Pork belly was not what I expected . Like pulled pork with no crackle. Maybe I expected too much. My sister had chicken with risotto which she said was lovely.

Happened to be just walking past going back to a main road cafe so we stopped here. Glad we did. Great staff and quality coffee and food. Well fitted out and good atmosphere. This cafe would be well at home at Mooloolaba or the Gold Coast. Food ranged from basic and well done to more sophisticated. This cafe is a credit to the local area. Only downside was that the prices matched the beach side cafes of NSW and QLD.
