Loved the view and the outdoor seating area. Staff tried very hard but our breakfasts were messed up. The evening meal was a better experience. Morning coffees were good. Lovely selection of local wines

Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, smoked salmon, hollandaise. Oh the hollandaise... delicious fresh made, nothing out of a packet or jar and you can taste the difference! Smoked salmon, local I assume (as this is the capital for such delicacies). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in...this part of the world.More

We had been told amazing things about this restaurant... sadly it didn’t live up to its reputation. Due to COVID 19 the restaurant was only open for dinner with reservations recommended. We could either order 2 courses or 3 courses and there was a very...limited choice. We paid for 5 star price for a 3 star service. The staff were lovely 😊More

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The quail as an entree was fabulous, really delicious. For mains we had the lamb also excellent. Service was also excellent, very efficient and always smiling. Truly professional. Beware the desserts while delicious were quite large, couldn't...finish mine.More

Our table of six all enjoyed some nicely prepared and presented food with a nice selection of wines and the service was very friendly and helpful. The Cape Grim hanger steak was a 10 out of 10.

My wife and I had dinner there for two nights. Due to Covid 19 the menu choice was limited but there is something for everybody. The food was top class and the service cheerful and attentive

I was recently part of a large group who went back to Gabriel's, expecting the same experience that we'd had in the past. Oh deary, deary me! We were SO disappointed with the whole evening...Atmosphere - no fire (mid Winter in Tassie...?), Food - my...meat and veg were great but chef hasn't heard about trimming the masses of fat OFF! Service - woeful in every way...barman/waiter couldn't understand our request for local Gin - we were wanting to support the local businesses - we gave up! We had to get up and go to the bar for every drink - no table service! , he took our orders but couldn't manage to write down who was getting what so the miserable looking waitresses (who couldn't crack a smile), had to call out what they had on the plates and we had to ask each other whose it might be!!, the desserts were brought out while some of us were still eating mains , as soon as we`d finished we were told we had to leave!!! Weren't asked if we`d like tea or coffee or more to drink - nope - we were chucked out! (Absolutely no reason for this at all!) When we asked why, we were told they were closing - 9.30 on a Saturday! We all had to line up and tell him what we'd had just like in a pub. When a few people mentioned our disappointment, this man became VERY annoyed with us to the point of being angry! We were ALL Tasmanians and some were local. We ALL visit the Tasman Peninsula regularly. Sadly, we will not be going back to Gabriel's. Note to owners/management - flush out the restaurant staff now!More
