Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very pleasant surprise. Had the best chicken parmigiana I can ever remember having. Obviously cooked with fresh quality ingredients it was succulent and bursting with tomato and cheese flavours. The restaurant is located right on the water in beautiful Orford and is obviously a...favourite go to place. Madam was highly complimentary of the salt and pepper squid. A selection of local wines are available.More

Called in after an Internet search for fish and chips. Eventually the staff decided they could do take away. Had to choose from the a la carte menu at that price ,so we ordered 2 entrees and chips. Some scallops, tasty enough but the size...of peas . Allegedly salt and pepper squid - missing salt and pepper but certainly well ( over ) cooked . Not good value for money. Will not be back .More

Dropped in at 5 pm My wife was not very hungry and ordered a scallop entree for $18 They had the audacity to present 3 scallop shells with 2 and 3 tiny scallops in each. We mentioned it to the lady in charge . She...was less than interested and excused the establishment by saying “scallops are small at present “ As locals it unfortunate and embarrassing to think this is considered to be of a suitable standard in a venue serving visitors to this state.More

Beautiful dinner at Eastcoaster this evening. The spring bay chicken curry was delicious and the accompanying roti was superb. Great local wines to accompany and friendly and attentive service.

This was a very nice surprise. The first of two dinners was by the window with wonderful evening views of the coastline. Service by Janeece was friendly and welcoming. Nice menu, especially the specials - set menu is mostly burgers and the like. Nice local...wines at reasonable prices. Very efficient ordering and timely delivery. A really pleasant dinner not expected in a beach resort.More

A nice restaurant, set up beside some Jetty's, overlooking Spring Bay. I imagine it would be very popular in Summer.... But in Winter, well.. There were five tables in total, one waitress kept busy, but everthing was very good and service quiet prompt. We tried...the baked Scallops- very nice, served in the shell with a cauliflower pure and sprinkled with prosciutto shards/crumb. I myself would have liked them so much better if they were left with the roe on- that way you know your getting real fresh scallops, . People can always cut the roe off, if its not there thing. I also had the Tasmanian Salmon served with chips and salad which was very good also, and my partner tried the chicken Curry which he said was excellent- served in seperate bowl to the rice and Naan bread on side. Definetly come back in summer!More

We visited for lunch today and ordered a toasted Turkish roll and asked twice if it comes with chips, both times the waitress told us yes. When the meal was delivered to the table it was just the Turkish roll with no chips. We reminded...her that we asked for chips and she said we would have to pay for them as extras after we were told they were included. I also ordered fish and chips and as a side requested sweet potato chips and aioli instead of tartare but when it came out it was potato chips and tartare. So disappointing. Won’t be rushing back to visit.More

Don't be deceived by the photos that management post. We arrived on a lovely day after driving an hour an a quarter to get there. The restaurant is sited to take in the beautiful view. Last month management posted some nice photos but we were...given a well worn menu with no sign of a steak in sight. When we asked the waitress (the one with the grimy shirt) she said there was a specials menu, so off she went and brought back a scrap of paper. We ordered our mains from that and the prawn entree from the standard menu. I must say the entree was excellent, although after shelling the prawns yourself it would have been nice to have a finger bowl to wash your hands. So off we both had to go to the bathroom to clean our hands. Then our mains arrived before they had even cleared the entree plate and prawn shells. My steak arrived without a steak knife and they forgot the wine that I had asked to come out with the main. The menu stated it would come with roast vegetables but instead I was served very sad looking steamed veges and the potato gratin, although okay, was nothing like the one they photographed for their own post. When I queried about the lack of roast veges I was given the excuse that they had changed the menu but not updated it yet. I call BS and laziness. She said she would pass it on to the chef but I can tell that the 'cook' I saw in the kitchen was no chef. If that was Cape Grim steak then I'll eat my shoe - it would probably have tasted better. My partner said his curry was nice but to me it did not look like the picture that management posted. They get one point for the lovely setting and one for the quality of the prawns. They lose the rest for lacking any sophistication either in service or sincerity.More
