This cafe is located in a house on the Old Grassy Road between Currie and Lynwood. The signage to the house’s driveway is not great, and not helped by the fact that the GPS shows two different locations for “Cafe Brewer”. After driving past it...on a couple of occasions on our way to Grassy we finally found the entrance only to find out that it was closed as the lady who runs the cafe was out of town. We tried a couple of days later and found it open but the dining area, which was in a covered verandah at the side of the kitchen, was setup for a bus group that was expected later that morning and the cake had been baked for that gathering. We were offered coffee which was just OK and had to sit at the wooden bench and table outside. There were quite a few plants for sale here.More
Our tour group was warmly welcomed - with instructions to care for our welfare. Semi-indoor/outdoor space was attractively set amongst an array of garden delights. Greenhouse punnets of seedlings available for purchase. Quiches for lunch were generous. Either Quiche Lorraine or Spinach and Fetta. Both...fabulous. Accompanying salads were very special. Home grown vegetables were the staple ingredients. Unique salads: one based on beetroot, the other with tantalising currants and other legumes. Just great. Dessert was a most amazing Rhubarb crumble cake. A masterful delight again! Absolutely memorable meal. Most congenial staff. Thank you Denise.More
Great place to meet some of the friendly locals….strong coffee and the scones were great….will return one day
There are very few places for lunch out of the main town of Currie, but Cafe Brewer is worth a visit. Denise, the owner is a lovely friendly lady and you get the feeling you’ve been invited to lunch on her homely deck. Denise even...took time out to sit and have a chat. The food is home cooked and delicious. I was unable to decide between the 2 side salads so it was suggested to have some of both! While the beetroot salad was nice, I did prefer the delicious rice salad. We recommend lunch here at homely Cafe Brewer on the farm.More
Absolute gem. The best rhubarb cake on the planet. Friendly staff and great prices. A must to visit for great homemade food.
This cafe serves large portions of beautiful home made food. My quiche was delicious. The cake was fresh from the oven.
Great scones and rhubarb cake. Best coffee on the island. Very nice chatting with the host about all the delights of King IslNd
This café is a great stop when touring King Island. The owner is extremely friendly and funny. The ambiance of this place in interior of this island in the middle of nowhere is extremely relaxed. We loved the mixed berry smoothie and the coffee slice.
Four of us stopped here for an early lunch. Denise was so welcoming and the food was so good. After enjoying quiche and salad we tried Denise's scones. Amazing. And she can also make a great coffee. So glad we called in for lunch and...that we got there early as the cafe is so popular it was getting busier and busier. Highly recommend you stop by for breakfast or lunch.More
