Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to stop. Superb gardens and the home-cooking is excellent. We visited last year and this year couldn’t wait to return. Denise with her home-spun wisdom is a delightful person, and she put herself out for us at a time when she was demonstrably...busy - Thankyou for that! There’s a rumour that she is retiring - don’t go! We love ya.More

Had a great coffee here but the owner said she only does take away coffees for “”drop ins” now, she solely focuses on group tour catering for food.

Our travel group was catered for by this business for morning teas. Scones and muffins were delicious. One day we came for lunch - quiche and salads and delicious rhubarb cake and chocolate and apple cake. Thoroughly recommend.

Pop in to this humble haven of true local hospitality and great coffee situated at 525 Old Grassy Rd. Take some time to talk to the lovely Denise and her husband to learn about the Island’s hidden gems. Call ahead to see if they are...serving breakfast. Denise knows people…..More

A phone call solved the apparent inability to buy a coffee indicated by closed sign allowing us to learn that take away was possible. Friendly service.

This cafe is located in a house on the Old Grassy Road between Currie and Lynwood. The signage to the house’s driveway is not great, and not helped by the fact that the GPS shows two different locations for “Cafe Brewer”. After driving past it...on a couple of occasions on our way to Grassy we finally found the entrance only to find out that it was closed as the lady who runs the cafe was out of town. We tried a couple of days later and found it open but the dining area, which was in a covered verandah at the side of the kitchen, was setup for a bus group that was expected later that morning and the cake had been baked for that gathering. We were offered coffee which was just OK and had to sit at the wooden bench and table outside. There were quite a few plants for sale here.More

Our tour group was warmly welcomed - with instructions to care for our welfare. Semi-indoor/outdoor space was attractively set amongst an array of garden delights. Greenhouse punnets of seedlings available for purchase. Quiches for lunch were generous. Either Quiche Lorraine or Spinach and Fetta. Both...fabulous. Accompanying salads were very special. Home grown vegetables were the staple ingredients. Unique salads: one based on beetroot, the other with tantalising currants and other legumes. Just great. Dessert was a most amazing Rhubarb crumble cake. A masterful delight again! Absolutely memorable meal. Most congenial staff. Thank you Denise.More

There are very few places for lunch out of the main town of Currie, but Cafe Brewer is worth a visit. Denise, the owner is a lovely friendly lady and you get the feeling you’ve been invited to lunch on her homely deck. Denise even...took time out to sit and have a chat. The food is home cooked and delicious. I was unable to decide between the 2 side salads so it was suggested to have some of both! While the beetroot salad was nice, I did prefer the delicious rice salad. We recommend lunch here at homely Cafe Brewer on the farm.More

This café is a great stop when touring King Island. The owner is extremely friendly and funny. The ambiance of this place in interior of this island in the middle of nowhere is extremely relaxed. We loved the mixed berry smoothie and the coffee slice.
