Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a find! The local bakery in a tourist town can usually be counted on to make decent pies, bread rolls, and the odd cake but the coffee is usually weak, too hot and burnt. Not here. The Freycinet bakery did genuinely good coffee, so good I made the 15-20 minute round trip from our accommodation every morning. I didn’t try the pies but there were some very good cakes and pastries on offer here as well, including a few gluten-free treats.

We breakfasted here for the 3 days we stayed at nearby Big4 Iluka and we ate dinner here once. In every case the food and drinks were well prepared and freshly cooked. The service was impeccable - all staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. Great music soundtrack too. Would highly recommend.

Friendly, efficient service, excellent coffee and a delicious almond croissant I could justify after my walks. Pies, small pizzas, panini and cakes all looked good and it’s proximity to the Big 4 caravan park made it way too tempting. Highly recommend.

Came to this place for breakfast as it was close to the Big 4 Iluka Caravan park and on my way to Wineglass Bay Cruise, parked out the front. Had the Brioche Breakfast, great choice, perfect combo, nothing was overpowering, perfectly put together. Was great they were able to swap the Brioche bun for sourdough bread.

This cafe had some poor reviews on Trip Advisor but when we arrived it looked great so we took a chance. We’re glad we did. A warm welcome from friendly staff, great cakes and some of the best coffee we had whilst in Tasmania

Hi Annie, We're so glad you had a great experience with us in Coles Bay. Thank you for your review, I believe you may have seen some reviews for a 'Permanently Closed' business that previously operated (poorly) where we are located now. As a young family owned business we really appreciate your time and review. We hope you're able to visit Freycinet in the future!

Loved the menu at Granite, particularly the all day lunch menu (sangas and sandos) that we took full advantage of! The coffee was exceptional and it’s a great location - we were there in the morning but it would be stunning at sunset (in season). Great service topped everything off!

What a great cafe/ restaurant. Magic location, next to caravan park. Super friendly staff. Great Pizza, and superb coffee in the morning. A 2 minute stroll to the beach. What more can you ask for. I'll definitely be back.

Just stopped by for coffee and we were not disappointed. Ordered flat whites and they were strong and smooth. Best place in Cole’s Bay for coffee

Just ate a curried chicken pie with probably one per cent chicken content. Very disappointing. Nice location but dud 🥧.

We stopped here for a morning coffee and a breakfast brioche before a trip to Hobart. The brioche was fresh and not too sweet. A generous serve of bacon , egg and relish made a good start. The coffee was good. They have pre-made paninis, rolls and wraps, all baked on the premises. A convenient place to stop and stop that hunger. Located near the Big 4 Caravan Park it’s a great place for your breads and drinks.
