We had lunch at this restaurant and ordered their signature dish - fish and chips. The food was very good and we finished it all but ordered only one set of fries between us so that was good planning. The price of the dish was $18.90 but as we were sat already having the lunch, the price was manually changed to $20.90 on the chalkboard. The $18.90 was already more than what most people pay for fish and chips so there is no reason to increase just because there more people coming in for lunch at noon. Their coffees were also good. The ice cream was a clear favorite for patrons but as I am lactose intolerant, I gave it a miss. I could have had their sorbet but was too full after the fish and chips. Not a bad place for a cafe that serves good fish and chips, coffee and ice cream.

The name is kind of a misnomer as we wouldn't have thought to go to an ice cream place for fish and chips. On the recommendation of a local, her favorite place to get fish and chips in the area, we visited after completing the 11km circuit track at nearby Wineglass bay. We were hungry and 2 orders of the fish and chips and an order of the squid, prawns, scallops and fish really hit the spot. Reasonably priced with generous portions of deliciously beer battered blue grenadine fish and seafood. Turns out this is a very popular spot for lunch but the service was well organized and timely. Indoor or outdoor seating is available. What a treat!

Thanks for the review. Yes our fish and chips is getting quite a reputation. Perfect double hit, ice cream and fish and chips after a long walk in beautiful Freycinet National Park.

Wed stopped in for an ice cream not knowing they also done fish and chips. So we decided to have some lunch. We all had fish and chips and were very happy with the meal sizes, freshness, pricing and the service by the young bloke was fantastic. After our meal we were too full for an ice cream so decided to head back later. When we arrived again the young guys remembered us and again gave us lovely service with our ice creams which were delicious. next time we visit coles bay we will eat here again

Horrible service, the girl scooped my ice cream hanging right off the cone and it fell off when she handed it to me. my friend got a cup and it didn’t even fill to the top. ( for the price you charge this is disappointing) from previous experience in customer service this needs some work.

Disappointing that a place that profiteers largely from visitors who come to see natural beauty don’t offer coffee and ice cream in cups/mugs and bowls. It is all take away cups and containers. They could play their part to preserve the environment and enhance visitor experience and environmental awareness. It’s quite quite a contrast when you’re sitting admiring the natural beauty, whilst eating and drinking out of takeaways. For the price, the coffee could be quality, and the ice cream could be a good quality local one. But no, they choose to serve cheap. The only reason I rate it 2, is because the service was good and the views amazing. Inside it is quite stuffy and the music loud. The side door could be opened to make sitting inside more comfortable, as outside can get very hot sitting in the sun.

They use Valhalla ice cream, which is great.
They add 10% for Sundays as well as public holidays and an additional 1.5% for card transactions.
This is all declared in tiny printing near the POS not anywhere near the menu or price list.

...and that is saying something - beautifully generous serve with ice cream and cream and milk chilled just right.
Cafe has cute vibe with modern fit out and outdoor area with fab view of Hazards.

One of the limited number of dining options in Coles Bay.
It was a toss up between the fish and chips here or Geographe which was almost next door.
We went for Geographe, just average, and came here for dessert.
Good range of ice cream flavours and what we had was tasty although expensive. One scoop $5-30 and two scoops $7-90.
Staff were pleasant.
Large inside and outside dining areas.

A must visit in Coles Bay. The Ice Creamery has an extensive range of ice-creams, plus sorbets, with something for everyone. I'm still working my way through the range of flavours! They also do great fish and chips. But if you're fortunate enough to catch you're own fish, still highly recommend some take away orders of the sweet potato fries (which are excellent) and/or thick cut potato fries (we usually grab a serve of both). The team all give very courteous and attentive customer service.

The ice cream here is really good. We had quite a long wait because it was a warm day and they only had one person serving but it was worth the wait. all the flavours we had were good with Choc/peanut butter and strawberry cheesecake among the standouts. The person serving was incredibly busy but still friendly and did a good job with the sundaes.

Great ice cream, as well as fish and chips . We catch our own fish and are accustomed to eating best quality, regularly. We were relieved to be served very fresh fish, cooked on order. Prompt, friendly, helpful service. Wonderful to see Lisa back.

An ice cream store plus fish and chips store all rolled into one and located near the boat dock in coles bay.
We stopped in for lunch after a morning exploring wineglass beach and hazard beach. The Barrundi fish and chips daily special was super tasty with two large pieces of crispy fried fish sitting on a heap of lightly seasoned fries-one order was plenty for the two of us for lunch. NOTE: as elsewhere iIn Australia, tomato sauce (ketchup) as well as tartar sauce are NOT free and must be ordered with your meal (cost $AUD 1.50).
Because the 20 or so favors of ice cream all looked so inviting as well, we both decided on a cone to fortify us for our afternoon adventures. I liked the white chocolate/ raspberry and my wife enjoyed the English toffee.
Service was super quick and there were tables in and outside I if you want to eat in. I liked it and would recommend it for a nice quick lunch.

Great that you enjoyed the whole experience at our restaurant sampling both ice cream and fish and chips. A brilliant way to end the day after a walk to Wineglass Bay.

What a lovely place! Delicious fish (best I have had so far in Tasmania), great outlook, really friendly and efficient service. We enjoyed our coffee and lunch and my partner also added an ice cream which he pronounced yummy. Everything about this place was pleasing, food, seating area, toilets and the view - what a winner❤️

Ordered fish and chips basket, but was a little disappointed. The staff is great of course, but they need to give better options with food. Prawns were so small, just like from a frozen packet. If you compare with other places with fish and chips, it also comes with salad. Here they just have chips and fish. Maybe that can be the area for improvement.

Nice looking building
Unclean unfortunately.
We ordered fish and chips and squid.
The chips were terrible, very limp and no taste.
The fish was adequate and the squid did not seem fresh.
I ate one piece and left the rest.
The meal was Expensive!!!! Before we had to then go next four to get nice food.
