Great venue, food & service

We decided to make this our meeting place for lunch. We are so glad we did. We sat outside, lovely view of the river. The service was great & the food was as well. I was happy that it was a venue that I could have my dog sit outside with us. I had the Chicken BLT, the others had chicken, poppy seed on sour dough & Chicken Caesar (she said it was the best she had ever had.

Went for lunch had a steak sandwich which was very poor the steak was fatty and at least 1 inch thick which is hard to eat as a sandwich , salad was out of a bag very dry, kitchen closes at 2 pm, can’t understand this day light saving peak tourist season, what do the tourist think of this. Businesses are complaining about business loss due to Covid, but they don’t open for the busy time of the year.Bathroom needs a good clean I went to use it and changed my mind

Cafe lunch after mini golf with the family

After a challenging 18 holes on the mini golf course we had a family lunch at the cafe. Prices were very reasonable, service was really fast and fantastic food - portion size did not disappoint either! Kids had nuggets & chips - portions big enough for young teens - and I had burger and fries. Yummy burger with the lot and a challenge to clear the plate! Would definitely recommend.

So disappointing

My son had the day off school for his birthday as his grandparents were in Tasmania to celebrate. He wanted to play Putt Putt with his Poppy (a keen golfer). When we paid to play we said to staff we would have look at the menu with the implied indication we would be having lunch. However when we decided to order at 12.15, we were informed that if we were not sitting at a large reserved table we were unable to order food (due to staff shortages). this despite empty tables. Beyond disappointed as we now have to find somewhere else to eat lunch and my mother has mobility issues. I feel that staff could of been honest with us and informed us that we could not have lunch we wouldn't of bothered to pay for golf either. We then watched as about a dozen other people were turned away and vented their frustration with threats never to return. We won't be back either such a poor look for visitors to our area.

Very disappointing! Poor service! Poor quality! Do not recommend

Visited here for brunch with parents. Poor quality food! Eggs Benedict served on a slice of normal bread!! Wtf! I have had many many eggs Benny all over the country and it’s always on sourdough or focaccia roll or nice bread of some sort! It was Swimming in sauce and eggs over done! Absolutely worst ever had. Then to make it worse the service was terrible. Manager so rude. Told we could sit anywhere and menus on table. Studied menu and decided on our options. Went up to order and told grill not on yet only serving breakfast menu. The front page of menu was range of food that didn’t say it started at a particular time. The breakfast page said serving till 11am but nothing noted on the first page about a staring time. When I raised this the response was “it’s common sense mate” How rude. An arrogant obnoxious man speaking to customers like that. Advice don’t pay until you eat. Actually don’t even bother visiting. If not with parents would of told him where to go! Only saving grace was coffee was ok but nothing to get excited about. Plenty of other cafes in the area that are 1000 times better. My reviews are very fair , usually mostly 4 and 5 star but got to be honest when I get service like that.

Meal undercooked and unbalanced

We ordered the bacon maple syrup and waffles. The waffles were drowned in maple syrup and the plate swimming in it. The bacon was so undercooked the fat was still white and sinewy. The waffles were also sickly sweet so there was not balance to the meal. This meal should be salty and sweet and served with crispy bacon and caramelised maple syrup. It really didn’t hit the mark at all. I also wonder why you can’t have breakfast after 11. You are cooking so what’s the difference in cooking breakfast to a lunch dish.

Awful, rude customer service. Poorly trained staff.

We ordered coffee, drinks and a bowl of chips. The coffee came quite quickly, the chips didn't appear. After 25 minutes we enquired if they would be much longer The staff member raised her voice, spoke over us and was very rude. Saying "We are busy, it will be another 15 minutes." At which time a refund was requested as we had to be somewhere else. This was refused as the staff member said "I refuse to refund because you can't wait" I would suggest entioning the long wait when taking orders during busy times. The toilet, yes only 1 for the whole Cafe, was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. We were with frequent visitors who will never return. 0/10 for customer service.

Family friendly

Such a beautiful family friendly spot. We played golf then had lunch. Lunch was amazing especially for the price. Coffees were great. Service was excellent as well. The menu has a large variety of items good for anyone. There's even a kids room with toys. We will be back

Disappointing

Not open when it should be

Arrived at 1.49 pm Thursday to be told “Sorry kitchen closed” Tripadvisor saying it is open until 4pm. Very disappointing

We came for coffee today. 8 people brought coffee from inside cafe plus cake. 1 couple brought their own. One of your staff came out and abused us and told us to go.even tho coffee was brought at the cafe. You have now lost a lot of business. We will never return. We have had group bookings before, devonport is a small place we have friends so this will be passed around. There was a group of men sitting outside as well. They all had own coffee cups.were they told. No .why were we picked on. Also same girl came out to tell us a customer had complained about a dog. How did she know it was ours. It wasn't. She then went back into cafe and bad mouthed us to customers as the customers turned around to look at us. We were outside on tables outside. Staff need to be trained how to speak to people. The rudeness of this staff member was uncalled for. SO WE WILL NEVER COME BACK AND WE WILL PASS IT AROUND

Luncheon sensational

We were lucky because we should have booked. The staff were able to accomodate us and we had a sensational lunch. The service was efficient and the staff pleasant and friendly. We will be back.
