We sat in the outside area, although it is protected from street noise and other interference by clear screens that came to about standing head height. We lashed out and had the seafood platter between two of us and food it to be plenty to keep hunger at bay.
I saw that they had a lunch special of $15 meals - standard offerings such as steak or fish and chips. I saw another diner with the fish and chips and the helping was of a generous size, and although I can't comment on the taste, it did appear to be good.
We were served by Ryan, who was very attentive.
It was good to see that the staff were very diligent in their cleaning procedures of tables and chairs between diners.

Drift Café has a great location – at a park on the bluff, with absolute waterfront, a lovely grassed area between the café and the beach, and unobstructed views of the ferry.
It covers all the bases – it’s a place you can just wander in off the beach and grab a coffee or ice cream, get a drink from the bar and watch the ocean, come in early for brunch, get fish and chip for lunch, or book a table for dinner.
Food is nice, and fairly priced with a series of decent options that cover most bases, though if you’re looking for the classy night out Mrs Jones upstairs is the better option.

This Cafe offers prices like a 5 star Restaurant. We had the Felafel and the Super Salad (each $26) and both were absolutely boring: no herbs or special spices, just boring. The Latte was ok, but very average. Cafe lives by the view alone.......

We did not have a booking, but arrived around lunchtime and were happily seated by very pleasant staff. Hubby ordered fish and chips (gummy shark) and I had the soy and miso salmon with soba noodles. We were both raving about how delicious our meals were. The suburb outlook from the restaurant across the breaking waves, just added to the overall ambiance. A definite recommendation for future visits.

Drift open during C/virus for takeaway only. We bought our coffees & sat on low beach wall watching dolphins dancing just off the beach... Drift is our local cafe & never fails for breakfast, morning/afternoon teas & coffees, lunch or dinners. Food simply delicious, coffee great, snacks tasty, views outstanding. What not to like? Well, if only acoustics were better...

It was so cold in the restaurant that it made the experience unpleasant. I think the food was ok but again hard to really enjoy. I would suggest waiting till they fix their heating or take advantage of their takeaway service.

We stopped in for light lunch - received a lovely warm welcome. Seated outside and, even though table service was for indoors, the wait staff were excellent and took very good care of us. We had the sliders (the beef and cheese sliders was fab) and soft tacos with salt/pepper squid. Excellent and tasty. Finished off with delicious coffee - and all overlooking the grass and the beach - lovely views. Excellent, reasonable and most enjoyable.

Up here recently with a couple of work colleagues. Good coffee, interesting varied menu and a beautiful view on a sunny day. Sitting outside with a view across beach bag straddled lawn to the family friendly Devonport surf I really enjoyed my baked egg brunch. I'll return with my family soon. A great addition to the Devonport dining scene - in the best location in Devonport.

Beautiful spot sitting outside, best thing about the place is the location. Two fruit smoothies had very little taste, just a hint of pineapple and a hit of orange juice but no mint due to them being blended with so much ice, bland and $11 each.
Salad was ok, chicken sliders small as they are but with very little chicken, sweet potato chips & aioli ok but you can't really go wrong. So overall the food mediocre and overpriced as usual is the case in Tasmania.

Located just across the road from the caravan park where we were staying, Drift does breakfast and lunch: we went for morning coffee. The coffee was good and I had a gluten free muffin (with cream) to go with it: could not have been fresher. Great.

Located in the Devonport Surf Lifesaving Club building, at the Mersey Bluff Beach, is this delightful cafe. Its glass walls give you great views over the sandy beach and crashing waves.
Open everyday for breakfast and lunch (6:30am to 4pm). It offers an all day breakfast menu, with a number of staples, steak sandwiches, slider burgers, soft tacos, focaccias, fish & chips and salads. The prices are relatively higher than other cafes but there was no doubting the quality or the freshness of the produce.

Placed drink order for four, waiter returns, sorry we have no stout. Place meal order, sorry we are out of prawns, what restaurant runs out of prawns during Friday lunch. Meals arrive, underwhelming, forget the sliders dry and overcooked and chicken. Steak sandwich with uncooked egg.

On arrival for our lap around the apple isle Drift was a welcoming place for an early morning breakfast and today we returned for brunch for our last meal in Tassie.
We all had the eggs, poached, fried or scrambled and well served on each occasion.
The coffee was great as were the friendly staff and great views.
Ciao.

A lovely small restaurant located next to the caravan park with a small simple menu with incredible food
I ordered just a side of poached egg, sourdough and side of hollandaise.
Firstly, lovely to see a small cafe that makes their own hollandaise rather than using bottle store bought hollandaise.
Poached egg was cooked to perfection as the white was fully cooked but the yolk was still runny.
Came with family and some friends for a small breakfast and it was absolutely incredible.
The other food my family ordered looked incredible as well
Overall 5 stars in everything.
Thank you for this delight

We would like to thank you, your front of house staff and back of house chefs for starting and finishing our great trip to Tasmania.
We arrived early and had a great breakfast, great choices and awesome coffee early March. This started our great circumnavigation of the apple isle.
To finish the trip we had brunch on Easter Saturday, with the same great service, food and coffee.
To your back of house staff very busy, but provided excellent meals in a timely was and served by friendly front of house staff. Well done all.
