We go here for dinner from time to time. Last night (saturday) there was ansolutely no service. 15 minutes after being seated I walked to the desk and asked if I can order drinks and they sent a waitress over to take drinks and entree orders. 45 minutes later I had to walk up and ask for service again at which time I ordered the mains at the desk. Then no table attendance again and we left and walked up the road for coffee & desert. This spoiled our night out a bit. Food was o.k. though.

We booked in advance to ensure we had a table where we could see the ferry loading while we enjoyed our pre sail dinner. An opening time of 5:30pm helps with meeting the ferry boarding time. For wine we ordered the rose after the waiter was able to advise it was on the dry rather than sweet side. I ordered the rack of lamb from the specials menu but there are plenty of options on the main menu to suit all tastes. The meat was cooked well, maybe a little on the tough side but pinkish and really tasty. The beans were cooked perfectly and the carrots had just a hint of crunch - the gravy/sauce was easily soaked up with the mashed potato. A beautiful way to end our Tasmanian holiday.

Our lunch here was great. The corn fritters ($18.99) and pork sliders ($20.99) starters were wonderful. The lamb ribs with chips and slaw daily special ($27.99) and Central garlic chicken ($30.99) were delicious. The bottle of Pepperjack Barossa Shiraz ($42.00) was the perfect drop with the ribs. Service was mostly very good, though a request for some soy sauce for the corn fritters was either not heard or was forgotten or ignored. No big deal. When in Devonport again we’ll be back.

What a nice atmosphere,
Great service friendly staff and some of the best food I've eaten.
The roast pork belly was an absolute delight, the type of meal you savour like a great bottle of wine from the first mouthful to the last.

well position by the edge of the water you can see the spirit of Tasmania getting ready to go on its daily voyage to the main land whilst you eat.
the restaurant has grown in size since the last time we ate there a couple of years ago and the extension to the dining room is pleasant, except for all the Tv additions which are distracting. The food is very good as the last time we ate there. staff is helpful too. we will be back

We were a group of 16 for a family birthday. The waitress came around and took our orders and wrote them all down. Needn't have bothered as they obviously didn't look at it again. The food slowly started coming out in dribs and drabs and a quarter of the group still had not received their starters when the mains started coming out. The same waitress then came out and said the mains are ready but we can still do the starters if you want them! We declined because we had been sitting long enough already. Half way through bringing out the mains one of the plates that came out was one of the starters! Hopeless. I was told I would get a discount on my main for the inconvenience but that didn't happen either. Absolute shambles.

I tucked in for an early dinner, with the bonus of sunset colours enjoyed over the river looking at the Spirit of Tasmania
The Coconut Prawns were nice, but the Sticky Date very ordinary. Good sue some improvement for the prices charged.

At a family birthday dinner, place was busy, our table of 20 placed their orders including myself. An hour and 15mins later meals began arriving. Over the next 15mins everyone at my table had their meal except me. They forgot apparently, how does that happen. When I complained they said oh sorry, but the kitchen has stopped cooking, I’ll see what can be put together for you ???
20 mins later and without an apology from staff and when most at my table had finished their meal, an arrangement of undercooked vegetables, a very large serving of mashed potato and a piece of overdone steak arrived. I originally ordered lamb with vegetables. I felt embarrassed after sitting there for so long with nothing to eat then having to hurriedly eat as people were wanting to leave as by now it was getting late. I will never return to this restaurant, I’m certain none of my family or extended family will either. High prices, very poor service. Get your act together.

We arrived for a quick meal in the bar, before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania. We asked if they were serving meals and was told yes and given menus. We bought a drink and then went to place our order, literally two minutes later, only to be told they were too busy in the main restaurant and that they were no longer going to be serving meals in the bar. Very disappointing! We had to quickly finish our drinks and find another venue for dinner.

Buy pub opposite the Spirit – hence that's why I think there were a lot of customers. Staff were trying to do a good job but we had to ask for things like water several times. They were good natured about things but they seemed a lit lost in what staff were doing what. Meals were perfectly fine and plenty of food options for all cuisines. Bar area next to the restaurant area had very funky interior design.

We came here late on a Saturday afternoon not really sure what we wanted to do in terms of food and drinks. But the staff were really friendly and chatty, and it was happy hour so we stayed a while. The drink choices during happy hour were great, not like some awful house stuff that bars try and get rid of, and the pizza was outstanding! Offers a great view of the dock of the Spirit of Tasmania and there's heaps of seating. Will definitely be back

Wow wow great hotel for a place to eat. Service was great, staff was busy, and didnt affect the service at all. Very busy resturant, best to book a head. Great layout & tables, staff were friendly, very well priced food, drinks, deserts. Great location by the water.

Really tasty pizzas on GF base (so a bit smaller than the house made bases) one was pulled lamb, the other smoked salmon with prawns.
Friendly age efficient staff, nice vibe in the front dining g hall overlooking the spirit in dock.
