My husband and I had lunch at Laneways today. With only one poor, frazzled staff member appearing to be running the show (apart from the cooking), things didn’t start well. After a considerable wait to place our order with the. apologetic wait staff, we received...our meals. At $24 for a minute steak panini, I expected something a cut above the average cafe fare. I was so disappointed with the stodgy, tasteless meal I received. Husband’s “authentic “ Thai curry was similarly plain and overpriced. Can’t say we would consider rushing back.More
We found this cafe for breakfast after disembarking Spirit of Tasmania (Thanks Trip Advisor) - what a great introduction to Tassie - great atmosphere, friendly service and a top meal and coffee. Loved the vibe of this cafe and it created a great first impression...of Tasmania. We would highly recommendMore
Fantastic breakfast, the best place in Devonport, plus as a bonus it is open by the time you disembark from the Spirit of Tasmania in the morning. I had the Laneways Breakfast, the bacon was the best tasting I’ve had for a long time and...the miso mushrooms are bursting with flavour. Highly recommended.More
5 gold stars!!! Great atmosphere, waitstaff are friendly, and decor is just plain fun! Can highly recommend the coffee and the North African Spiced Beans!
Found this cafe in Devonport, great atmosphere, delicious food, great coffee, good menu and the service was fabulous, popular with the locals
I always make sure I visit Laneway for breakfast when in Devonport. Never disappointed, a great menu and always freshly cooked to perfection. Great coffee, fantastic service. A really nice place to enjoy a great breakfast!
We had Maddi Ann as our server when we visited Laneway . She is bright , happy , quirky and so helpful . We don’t eat a big breakfast and Maddi had ours tailor made to our requirements . The coffee and breakfast was excellent,...A great experience ads perfect by MadiMore
Coffee and food were amazing! Very busy cafe but the service was excellent, atmosphere was industrial rustic, with Rolling Stones playing in the background.
Delicious! Every part of our meals was fresh and tasty! Best mushrooms I’ve ever had. Coffees were great! Very friendly and helpful service! Anticipated needs of our 2yo. They even have a seperate vegan menu! A must visit!
Beautiful food and coffee but we were made to feel really unwelcome by the serving staff. We were told there are no tables even though there appeared to be multiple free tables as people had left. I am travelling alone with two small children and...nobody offered me a seat while we waited or even offered us a table in time. I felt really upset by this as we have had a rough time and walked specially here to try the coffee and food. I think politeness and customer service make a cafe no matter how good or bad the food is. Very disappointing. We could ito have been made to feel more unwelcome actually and despite the friendliness of the people in Devonport , this place let the team down today.More
Fantastic coffee, great food and atmosphere. My husband and I had a big breakfast. Food cooked to perfection, mushrooms in particular were delicious . Service was prompt and efficient Newspapers available to read. Highly recommend this cafe.
Straight off the Spirit of Tasmania, needed to fill time to hopefully experience a wonderful breakfast. We could not fault the food, coffee or service. Staff were in control of the very busy floor and still managed to be polite and most importantly smile. An...excellent start to our Tasmanian holiday. Well done to you all. We will be back.More
Like a lot of others, we came here 'fresh' off the ferry and in need of a good breakfast coffee. We certainly found it here. The cafe has a lovely vibe and the food, coffee and service were excellent. Loved the North African spiced beans....We enjoyed it so much we drove back in to have breakfast there again the next day.More
A terrific cafe in a laneway behind Devonport centre. Service is upbeat and incredibly friendly and the cafe would be well at home in king st Newtown Sydney. Loose leaf tea in a tea pot - such a step up from the usual tea bags...in cafes. Wonderful. Coffee is great, balanced and hits the spot after a long ferry ride. Good options for everyone on the menu. Highly recommended.More
