About
Benvenuto! Welcome to Verona Restaurant & Wine bar, we hope you enjoy your time with us. At Verona we are passionate about providing you with a stunning environment, the most delicious food and drinks as well as friendly, hospitable service. One of the many things we love about Italy is the way that at meal times an Italian family gathers their friends and community to share great conversation and laughter whilst they feast together over shared food and wine. We have designed our menu with this in mind! You can either enjoy a quick lunch/dinner by selecting one meal from our menu or gather your friends and family together to feast on a selection of our beautiful main meals, pizzas and side dishes...don’t forget to ask our wonderful staff for their suggestions on what to order! Quality is an absolute must when we are sourcing ingredients and we pride ourselves on using fresh, seasonal Tasmanian produce wherever possible to support our local producers…..and because it’s the best!

As a guest of friends and a visitor to Devonport I was slightly sceptical of how wonderful my friends described this restaurant as being. How very right they were!
The ambience was rich and welcoming and I seriously felt like I was in Italy, a place I’ve traveled to many times. I felt justified in my judgement.
The food was excellent. The menu was balanced and innovative and the produce was obviously locally sourced as it was so fresh and delicious!
And the service was outstanding. It is so refreshing to have a service attendant who waits your table with a beaming smile, a sense of humour and attention to detail. Nothing was any trouble and any area that she felt needed to be addressed was addressed promptly and without fuss. Her service made our whole evening so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much Mikeelie!
Well satisfied
Tamara, Bernadette and Maree.

We had a superb dining experience Verona is a stylish restaurant, nice to have background music playing on a Saturday evening. Great service, the waitresses work as a team, and even though the restaurant was completely full, including function rooms, we always had attentive, friendly, prompt service. Great selection, we opted for the Tassie Devil Pizza, made in the traditional style. Would like to come back and sample more

Excellent quality of service and food, in particular Chef Giuseppe, who took time to explain the incredible authentic dishes and our server Dorothy was very friendly and helpful. We were so impressed that we had dinner one night and came back for lunch the next day. Giuseppe recommended the Limoncello Dessert which accompanied with a shot of Limoncello liquor, what a high quality dessert, absolutely delicious. Our friends together with us have eaten all over the world and it reminds us of authentic Italian food that we have had in Italy. Highly recommended. Wish all of Italian restaurants in Australia were of this high quality.

In a recent review by “”Mickandaway” the food was rated as “ok” and gave the restaurant 4 stars. I was surprised that “ok” rated food got four stars. We hesitated with our rating, the food was barely “ok”, we gave it two stars.
As noted by another reviewer, excess oil is a problem, my tagliatelle with prawns was swimming in it. I am not talking about high grade olive oil coating the pasta but rather oil rendered out of the italian sausage. The latter is not pleasant. My pasta dish was like nothing i have had in Italy, the pasta was overcooked and the excess oil unpleasant.
My wife ordered dukka coated ocean trout. The fish was well cooked but the accompanying vegetables were again way overdone, to the point of being inedible.
Pleasant serving staff were apologetic and said they would raise the matter with the kitchen. When asked about the meal on departure we gave the same feedback and received the same response.
The pizzas looked great, perhaps we should have ordered one.

My meal was very disappointing, everything was cooked in oil and plate swimming in it. Potatoes, beans and fish not nice. Had to use serviette to drain the oil off, beans hard. Had a lemon meringue tart??? biscuit base hard and a little lemon and meringue piped on top and a small latte. The cost $48.00. Wouldn't go back but the waitress was lovely.

We had dinner for two at Verona.
We started with warmed olives, and followed with risotto and tagliatelle, accompanied with a nice craft beer and wines by the glass. We enjoyed all of them.
The only sour note was when we asked for water for the table. We were told they had run out of water bottles ( even though not all tables were occupied) and so we had to go to the water station to help ourselves. We asked if we could be brought a glass from the bar, but were told “ because of Covid” that couldn’t be done. We could have wine or beer by the glass from the bar, but not water! Either our server was untrained, or the interpretation of the Covid rules was very strange. Not a biggy, but the server was also pretty rude in the way the “rules” were delivered. Turned a “berygood” to an “average “

Excellent food and service. We took a group of 20 for dinner last night as we do for all of our tours that go through Devonport and this restaurant went above and beyond to make our group’s night memorable. The service was timely for a large group, the food outstanding and the staff wonderful. Thank you for a great night. We look forward to coming back again and again.

Very slow service, took at least 30 minutes to get a drink, and another 70 minutes before we’d even received our entrees (garlic pizzas). We had to flag down waitstaff to place food and drink orders. The restaurant was extremely busy and made us wonder whether the kitchen was equipped to accommodate so many diners. Food was okay, but the experience meant we probably won’t book again.

So impressed with my first visit to Verona. Generally I wait until I have been to a restaurant at least twice before reviewing but this restaurant impressed me quickly. I attended a work function so was able to experience a few different dishes and each was so tasty. I ordered the chicken dish and it was cooked to perfection! The pizzas also looked amazing. We all shared sides and the duck fat potatoes had us all salivating. The service was good and the atmosphere wonderful. A huge restaurant and styled really nicely and modern. See you again for sure!!

Another fantastic development for dining out in Devonport Tasmania offering fine Italian food in an equally pleasing setting of Italian style. The night I was there they had a wonderful performing duo "The opportunists" consisting of a capable guitarist and a singing percussionist. Modern well loved tunes throughout the evening gave great vibes while enjoying the fine food and wines. I ate the Samond Pizza while my wife enjoyed the Canalonie and daughter a Risoto. All excellent authentic quality. The venue is vast inside with many dining spaces which is a surprise from the impression one gets from the street. I highly recommend anyone wanting great food, service and setting to try Verona.

Had great expectations of this restaurant after reading the reviews. Staff were lovely and attentive, though feedback seemed to go unreported. I ordered the Dukka coated trout. The fish was OK, but the accompanying vegetables were cooked beyond recognition. Limp, lifeless broccolini, snow peas & carrot. The hero of vegetables was supposed to be the duck fat potatoes....not memorable, just soggy big chips. My husbands tagliatelle was swimming in oil. Not a place we would revisit.

The food's so good here, we've been back countless times. And consistently so through appetisers, entrees, mains and desserts - pasta, pizza, secondi and docie; including wood fired dishes. With a good selection of wines too, including mulled wine during the cooler months.
If your visiting Italian friends are hankering for authentic taste of home, bring them here. They'll love you for it.

Good, authentic Italian restaurant in Devonport. Always great to enter an establishment and spy a view of the kitchen. The restaurant was busy and the crew were working hard, as were the attentive wait staff. I had the gnocchi and my wife the pork belly, which we matched with a mediterranean salad. All very good. Pizza's and calamari dishes served to adjoining tables looked fantastic too (will definitely have to return for a lunchtime pizza on the tables out front this summer). Pannacotta dessert, featuring saffron infused pear, was outstanding. Only slight criticism, wine list could perhaps benefit from having more local wines available by the glass. Nonetheless all very good.

Went to Verona for lunch, was told to walk in and take a seat and someone would be with us shortly. We weren't shown to a table or given a menu, we waited a good 10 minutes and were totally ignored so we walked out. I really hate bad service and being ignored. Totally unacceptable .

Arrived to be told to pick a table anywhere! Ok..
Nice looking restaurant, ordered a beer and a wine.
Table was dirty to the extent my napkin stuck to the table from previous food. Water glass was chipped. We ordered the special pizza which was very nice. While waiting for mains our glasses sat empty for 10min before we waved a waitress down to get another, ( seemed she was to busy on her mobile phone then watching tables). Then followed the Caesar salad which was also very nice. Mains where brought out without our table being cleared. We ordered gnocchi and lasagne both where served in a cast iron dish, and looked like they had been chucked in pizza oven to reheat. Lasagne was ok nothing special, chewy and overcooked on top due to the reheat. Gnocchi was chewy dry and no sauce. After we left we had a horrible taste in our mouths like metallic, which I put down to the cast iron serving dishes and metal spoons/forks. Overall didn’t think it was anything special considering how everyone told me it was the place to go. Entrees good service and mains pretty average.
