It was 7am in the morning and the bus to Hobart didn't depart until 8:00am. Checked out early from the motel and was looking for a breakfast place. Had to choose between Macdonalds of Cafe Xoxo and i made the right choice. Chose scrambled eggs with soudough bread and i must tell you : the eggs were fresh and well made and the bread was very fresh too. They also have yummi middle eastern desserts (such as baclava) if you have a sweet tooth and they also serve chai and coffee.

From the rich tasting coffee, friendly service and wonderful flavours of the food, it was everything a few of us remembered when sharing a meal with Afghanistan friends. The flavours were authentic, bread warm and soft and we all left vowing to return. When a couple of chef's at the table are wanting to copy recipes you know what your doing is right, well done XOXO.

This is our 2nd visit to Café XOXO and we are even more thrilled after Cradle Mountain. Landing back in this iconic restaurant reminds me of trips to a Himalayan café with all the class and vibe of great cuisine, mostly from Pakistan and Korea; topped with European Coffee and Cakes. This place is a “winter Zen zone”; like Everest it has amazing allure! It attracts a diversity of people; all ages and cultures from around the world! The staff led by Ahmed and Morgan are all delightful and friendly, guiding you in the Menu; each of our 5 different dishes was perfect; style, flavour, quality and value! Oh, don’t forget the house made Lassi and Tumeric Chai Iced Coffee, they are both bold temptations! Whether full or almost empty, the CBD Mall venue has amazing ambience! Just like the other Spirit of Tasmania docked just over the Mersey River, this upper level restaurant is well worth waiting for a seat; either by the fire, or tables sized for couples or groups. I wanted to lounge more; pondering the Life of Pie, and Himalayan adventures with colorful decor and lamps! At street level, the Café invites you in to explore the Meaning of Life and the passing of Time; over Cakes and Coffee. Café XOXO has many WOW factors; I look forward to trying their Summer menu!

We used to frequent XOXO regularly at their former residence and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere immensely.... but since relocating we have had issues everytime we've sat down for either coffee or a meal. The first time we visited our meals were dropped on the floor when two waitresses collided - it happens. Next time our order wasn't processed and after waiting 45 mins we enquired with the waitress who served us. She said she'd follow up but nothing happened. After two trips to the car meter another waitress was informed and whilst she rectified the problem and apologised profusedly (offering us free drinks) we were still charged for one of them. The next time round we waited at the counter to order to avoid any problems - it was not busy but were asked by the proprietor to sit and wait for a waitress. None were forthwith. So we waited. And waited some more. The counter had no customers but the proprietor just fiddled around and never informed his staff that we were waiting. We gave up and left, went to Brumbies across the way. Average food and coffee but hey, we got served! Strike 3 folks.

I have been to the XOXO Cafe on a few occasions. I have found their chai latte always superb and the coffee of a really good quality. I dropped in today for some takeaway. It was all really good and tasty especially the Mongolian Lamb cooked with noodles and a good dose of chilli.. However, the Chicken Fried Rice was just superb. All three of us had some each. The serving was large, it was piping hot and the taste was truly magnificent. I highly recommend that anyone going to XOXO for a meal give the Chicken Fried Rice a go. I am sure you will really enjoy iy. The Lemon Curd pie and the Caramel Banana Gateau were both excellent treats in themselves to finish off the meal.

Cafe Xoxo always has excellent coffee. They offer some really nice Afghan food on their menu which is also available for take-away. They cook their food fresh to order. Well worth stopping in for a coffee and a bite to eat when you are in Devonport.

A lovely place but the meals we ordered the Fried Pratha and Fried Eggs which comes with house made baked beans (as per the menu). The meals arrived without the beans. Raised this with the server who said it doesn’t come with beans. Without beans it seemed expensive - $22. Might need to either update the menu to remove the house made beans or serve with the beans it lists and not dismiss what your customer has said is listed on the menu.

An interesting, if not eclectic mix of Afghan and Korean dishes of real good quality and quantity. The spiced chai latte was ther best I have had in a restaurant. The gluten free cakes looked extremely tasty but we were too full to attempt them. Highly recommend this eatery.

We just wanted something simple for lunch but when we found this place it exceeded everything. At first thought - Korean and Afghani? But it works! The good was generous and tasty, and the service was awesome. The cafe itself was so interesting with art and rugs and clocks for sale. We loved it. Don't let the fact that it's located in a very generic mall put you off.

Pleasant efficient service. Nice ambiance. It's bigger inside than I expected. Prices realistic and servings generous. The coffee was excellent. Smooth and creamy with good flavour and no hint of bitterness. Too many positives to subtract a star due to a slight lack of flavour. My korean fried rice with egg and chicken was nice but a little bland. My friends beef curry was also mostly good.

Having just rolled off the Ship, I was in need of early morning coffee hit. Headed into cbd to find something open: xoxo appeared near corner of town mall. Lad enjoyed his chocolate milkshake and I the strong latte. Nice dining area with art sales.

We came here for coffee, not expecting to find Afghan or Korean food, but here it was on the menu. We decided to try the Afghan platter for lunch, It was delicious. Coffee was good too. We would definitely go back.

Great food. We shared a plate for lunch - plenty for 2 people. Lamb, chicken and falafel; hummus, garlic dip, salad, beans, roti.

Beautiful authentic food. The baked beans were a standout. I can’t wait to come back and taste one of those gorgeous looking Turkish delights in the window.
