Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A pretty cafe restaurant and attached shop and accommodation. We stopped in for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was very flavoursome, unique and beautifully presented. Loved the quirky menu! We had the Goldilocks porridge and the Fritz Royale. The service was impeccable....The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful - so important! A highlight of our Tasmania adventure. Looking forward to returning.More

We chose this spot on a recommendation however, we were disappointed. People who arrived after us were served first, when our lunches only needed to be heated. My husband’s pie and my quiche both had a mass of rocket with a couple of yellowing baby...spinach leaves, topped with marigold petals. We don’t consider rocket a salad, especially for $6 or $7 extra.More

An underwhelming stop at the Cygnet old bank cafe. House cooked beans tasted like tinned white beans with pureed tinned tomato. Not pleasant and uneaten. Coffee was luke warm with extra extra froth. Mostly froth House baked bread was delicious. Wait staff were attentive and...friendly but no follow up to what was clearly an untouched dishMore

Great treats from a lovely spot central in the town! Plus the Accoms at the attached Old Bank are superb! Lovely Victorian style with very well appointed rooms and bathrooms! Every detail is considered and it was quite a treat to end my Tassie trip...staying hereMore

Do not often attend and unfortunately when I did my order was mixed or items were mixed or food less than desired. Recent visit no different- poached egg forgotten and sourdough base so hard it could not be cut, had to be held in hand...and bitten with difficulty. The smashed avo on the rock hard sourdough was approx 3mm thick and 8 micro salad leaves with seeds.. very disappointing and should really be upgraded.More

Food was good. Problem with 2 people being served and finishing their food and others still waiting.Well over an hour and then we had to remind them. No apology.Probably wouldnt go there again for this reason.

Called in for lunch and really glad we did. Hubby and I had had the pumpkin gnocchi, recommended by the lovely lady serving us, and it was delicious. Had such a good flavour. We then enjoyed a slice of cake and coffee for dessert, and...the apple and almond and the chocolate banana cakes were both very enjoyable. Staff were friendly and attentive.More

The food is excellent quality and has a real diversity of flavours. Not your usual cafe food that’s for sure. Definitely recommend. The staff were friendly and attentive. We definitely left feeling full of good food

We had lunch here and love the venue with nice high ceilings and pleasant staff. The pork curry was pleasant but a small serve for the price; the burger with the lot was tasty but served with a small pile of store-bought chips. For $25,...I want fries! So lunch was good enough but not great value I am afraid.More

Service slow-average Food reasonable Very noisy and a bit chaotic. We sat outside in the cold and it took ages to get served.

The Conservatory cafe was attached to our accommodation (the Cygnet Old Bank B & B) and was in fact where you checked in and had breakfast. We read that the cafe was added to the building in 2005 but closed at some stage after this...and was, thankfully, resurrected in 2018. It is a wonderful area. There were a significant number of dining areas from the main part of the cafe, which was very bright and open, to separate indoor dining areas of different sizes in the former stables, to outside covered and open areas. There was also a number of rows of apples and other fruit growing out in the garden with varieties of apples that we had never heard of before. The garden was also full of fresh flowers which were placed in small vases on the tables. The breakfast and luncheon menus offered a good choice of dishes. The Reuben sandwich that I had for lunch was very tasty as were the bacon and eggs and smashed avocado dishes for breakfast. Prices were very reasonable also. Coffee was also very good and there was a delicious array of cakes and pastries on offer every day. Every member of staff that we met was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. This was the best cafe that we encountered in Cygnet.More

Stopped for lunch at this cafe. it was very well presented with an extensive and interesting menu. The star of the show was the Reuben sandwich which was filled with chunks home cooked corned beef and served with sweet potato crisps and dressed salad greens....Absolutely spectacular!!!More

With roughly 24 hours after the previous location fell through due to covid they put together an amazing small wedding reception for family. Beautiful table settings with a full bouquet of amazing blooms, mock tails, champaign, personalised menu, beautiful food and amazing service!
