Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Walk into The Chapel and you’ll instantly feel the warmth of this cafe in downtown Burnie. The burger, with its two brisket mince patties, is bursting with flavour and just the right size serving. The accompanying ‘not your average fries’ live up to their name...thanks to the truffle and parmesan. Round out your meal with a top notch coffee.More

Brilliant food, great friendly service and well-priced. Highly recommended. Five of us went for lunch and all raced about their meals.

On the occasions I've travelled thru Burnie I've always struggled to find a place that combines comfort, style and good dining (as in quality offerings). I suspect the layout, design and juxtaposition of retail stores in the city adds to that struggle. On this occasion...I ventured into a converted chapel - it came up on a Google search "good coffee in Burnie" and it was one of the few still open at that time of day (2.30). Seriously impressive interior space with friendly staff with an strong style presence. After four years travelling around this southern Apple Isle, it was the first time that I had been served a spritz water (to cleanse the palate) with an espresso. Coffee was among the better sampled in Tassie (though last week's Bread Line in North Hobart was superior, but that's almost five hours away), and my friand was fresh and appropriately moist. As is the case with most places, it was served with a variety of a thickened (rather than pure) cream. Next time I'm in Burnie I won't need to look around - I'll go here. Bathroom - spacious, clean, well stocked, and continued style theme of dining area - big tick. The day I was there it was drizzling - so sunroof was shut.More

Can only comment on their coffee, but it's a ten out of ten from me. Prompt service, courteous staff. Will return to sample the menu

The staff seemed disinterested to serve us, they told us it was close to closing time but said to come in. The sandwiches and chips were fine and as expected. They then invited two more groups in. The ice chocolate was tiny, it only had...a 1/4 cup of milk because the small class had two large square ice cubes in it. I know it’s called an “iced” chocolate but didn’t realise it wouldn’t be 75% ice cube for $7.More

Fantastic little eatery in the heart of Burnie. Quirky decor in a beautiful repurposed old church building. Meals were delicious and service was great. I had the mushroom bruschetta which was to die for and partner had the tomato soup was the best he’d ever...tasted.More

Excellent service attentive to detail and efficient. From drinks order to breakfast meals it was all in a clean order and each plate was delivered to the right person with staff not asking who had which order(good memory and knowing your customer only works when...staff are on the ball). Overall well run by the Manager and staff.More

The Chapel was recommended to us by a local who said it had great coffee and she was right! I ordered sourdough toast and home made jam. I was a little disappointed when the jam turned out to be raspberry as this is not a...favourite spot f mine. However, my disappointment turned to delight when I tasted it. I even asked to buy some to take home. Unfortunately they don’t sell it in jars. The sourdough was lovely too as was the caramel slice my friend ordered. While this cafe was packed at the end of lunch time, the staff were efficient and service came with a smile. I highly recommend The Chapel.More

I’m lte February, a friend bought on line a $75.00 gift voucher for me. She was told it would be sent out to me. I live three minutes down the road from the Chapel. I was reluctant to go back to the chapel as a...few years back my husband and I were treated very badly by the staff, but I thought I would give them another go as much time had passed. However, the voucher never came. My friend rang them and was told that the owner had placed it in the post box. I’m not sure if they meant the letter box at my house or through the mail, but which ever one it has not been received. I have since contacted The Chapel, to be told they were very busy at the time and that they couldn’t help me, however the owner would contact me at the end of the day. I have never heard from them at all. So again, treated badly. To be honest with this treatment I will never go back to this business or any other business they own. I only hope that my friend who bought the gift voucher can get her money back.More

Popped in for lunch with kids. Food was delicious and super tasty. Crispy chicken salad, falafel quinoa and gourmet toastie were excellent meals. Staff were really friendly. So great to see a place like this in Burnie. Look forward to coming again next time we're...in town.More
