Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After a good night at sea getting to this lovely island state, we wanted to have a nice late brunch. Since Burnie was on the way to our final destination for the day, we took to TA and found this gem. It’s funky, well decorated and clean - it has a nice vibe. We got in at 12:30 and it was busy with younger and older people alike. We were asked to take a seat where there was room and the barista quickly came over with menus. We ordered the eggs benni with ham, poached egg on toast with smashed avocado and tomato relish, a flat white and a piccolo of Prosecco. All was excellent…only one minor flaw…all of the poached eggs were overcooked by about 1 minute…so the yolks were semi-hard and not runny at all…so the nice sourdough toast didn’t get to absorb the yolks. Otherwise, we’d give this place a 5. We passed-on this rather important comment to the barista. We still highly recommend this place…the staff were very nice and engaging.

Walk into The Chapel and you’ll instantly feel the warmth of this cafe in downtown Burnie. The burger, with its two brisket mince patties, is bursting with flavour and just the right size serving. The accompanying ‘not your average fries’ live up to their name thanks to the truffle and parmesan. Round out your meal with a top notch coffee.

Excellent service attentive to detail and efficient. From drinks order to breakfast meals it was all in a clean order and each plate was delivered to the right person with staff not asking who had which order(good memory and knowing your customer only works when staff are on the ball). Overall well run by the Manager and staff.

The staff seemed disinterested to serve us, they told us it was close to closing time but said to come in. The sandwiches and chips were fine and as expected. They then invited two more groups in. The ice chocolate was tiny, it only had a 1/4 cup of milk because the small class had two large square ice cubes in it. I know it’s called an “iced” chocolate but didn’t realise it wouldn’t be 75% ice cube for $7.

Had scrumptious breakfast (chia porridge with lemon curd, nuts, berries)....house brew coffee and very attentive service. A busy Saturday didnt affect the quality of service... even customers coming for takeaway coffee had very fast turnaround. Enjoyed so much, went back for lunch meeting! Free wifi, easy connect and varied menu range...... Thankyou and all the best with the next venture in Burnie (just ask them)!

They have good coffee, breakfast tea is loose tea leaves. We have pull lamb tacos, chicken burger and Philly steaks. A decent lunch meal. The cheese i think if different type of cheese frgrance goes well with the steak with onion and mushroom.

I drove 2 hours from the country and was looking forward to coffee in a lovely environment. I requested 3/4 latte and a friand with cream. I was presented with a coffee in a takeaway cup despite the fact I was sitting at a table! Disappointed I said I was looking forward to coffee in their attractive glass cups. No problem they would remake coffee. No! They didn't - simply repoured into a glass - just lukewarm when it arrived and not the colour of usual coffee made to fill the glass 3/4! Such a disappointing experience. Even the extra shot had NO creama. I won't come back! Just look at the photo of the insipid pale colour of latte I was served!!

Very impressive cafe. Scrambled eggs with mushrooms was perfectly done with their own tomato relish adding the zing! Coffee was very good For an old brick church the decor was very pleasant and comforting. Service was excellent despite being very busy.

I’m lte February, a friend bought on line a $75.00 gift voucher for me. She was told it would be sent out to me. I live three minutes down the road from the Chapel. I was reluctant to go back to the chapel as a few years back my husband and I were treated very badly by the staff, but I thought I would give them another go as much time had passed. However, the voucher never came. My friend rang them and was told that the owner had placed it in the post box. I’m not sure if they meant the letter box at my house or through the mail, but which ever one it has not been received. I have since contacted The Chapel, to be told they were very busy at the time and that they couldn’t help me, however the owner would contact me at the end of the day. I have never heard from them at all. So again, treated badly. To be honest with this treatment I will never go back to this business or any other business they own. I only hope that my friend who bought the gift voucher can get her money back.

We treated ourselves to a cafe brunch yesterday and we weren't disappointed. Friendly, efficient staff, great vibe and delicious food and coffee. Best eggs bene I've tasted (from my husband's plate) and the French Toast with the almond and apricot flavours was delicious.

The Chapel was recommended to us by a local who said it had great coffee and she was right! I ordered sourdough toast and home made jam. I was a little disappointed when the jam turned out to be raspberry as this is not a favourite spot f mine. However, my disappointment turned to delight when I tasted it. I even asked to buy some to take home. Unfortunately they don’t sell it in jars. The sourdough was lovely too as was the caramel slice my friend ordered. While this cafe was packed at the end of lunch time, the staff were efficient and service came with a smile. I highly recommend The Chapel.

Fantastic little eatery in the heart of Burnie. Quirky decor in a beautiful repurposed old church building. Meals were delicious and service was great. I had the mushroom bruschetta which was to die for and partner had the tomato soup was the best he’d ever tasted.

Was excited to take a Burnie friend here for her birthday (27th) while in Burnie for work. Had booked. We both ordered the shark and chips, and the batter for both was soggy. Nothing like the article in "The Aus". Then our finished plates sat and sat and sat in front of us, with no-one coming near us. We left given it was clear there was no more service. Missed out on dessert orders and coffee. Very disappointed.

Popped in for lunch with kids. Food was delicious and super tasty. Crispy chicken salad, falafel quinoa and gourmet toastie were excellent meals. Staff were really friendly. So great to see a place like this in Burnie. Look forward to coming again next time we're in town.

Great little place, excellent coffee, good service, lovely atmosphere. We had a 3 cheese muffin and fruit loaf with butter. Both very yummy. We had had breakfast so weren't that hungry, however their breakfasts looked amazing!! ....... Next time!
