Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When we first visited this café it was only for coffee, however, we were so impressed we came back for breakfast and lunch during our tour of the area. The owner seems to have a real passion for her craft. The food was divine and the coffee a life saver. Be warned, it will be very hard to pass up on the opportunity to have cake with coffee. What was on offer was beyond tempting. We will have to find an excuse to return to the area so that we can visit this café again. After also visiting the Heritage Centre we gained a real appreciation for this little town, and I can highly recommend spending time here.

The most exceptional offsite catering I’ve ever experienced. Having organised an annual ‘long table’ fundraising event for a large group of friends I was so lucky to be introduced to Lucinda and her wonderful team from Moon Lily Kitchen. Our venue was the exquisite Waterton Hall at Rowella which created a superb backdrop for our Moon Lily experience. The food was world class, locally sourced and simply mouth watering. The service was second to none. This family run business is starting to hit its stride and I will be supporting them time and time again. Simply the best.

I visit this cafe nearly every day, it is a fantastic venue with amazing food, I was shocked to see a very bad review by ‘freelancer’ which I doubt very much was justified. All the food is fresh and appealing and the amazing staff do their very best to deal with busy times in a very professional manner. Take my word for it, this place IS worth a visit!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review, they all make a difference. Having return customers is absolutely the most important part of running a hospitality business, for this we thank you so much. Without people like you, there would be no Moon Lily to come back too everyday. Regards, Moon Lily Staff

Looking for a cafe on a very wet day. Coffee was hot and plenty of it, and the brunch had crispy bacon, two poached eggs, some greens, and two toasts. Glad I ate here on a three day jaunt from Huonville.

This was one of those morning tea experiences that really surprised you. A simple order of two coffees and a shared muffin proved to be an outstanding choice. Great coffee accompanied by a warm muffin halved and served on different plates with lemon curd, cream and raspberries. Simply divine. Friendly staff who went above what was expected. We enjoyed our morning tea. A truly unexpected find in Beaconsfield. Well done.

What a delightful accident! We stopped in Beaconsfield as we needed a few things from the supermarket. This little gem was right next door and well, it was lunchtime. We picked from the deli counter before realising there was a lunch menu and although the menu looked delish, our choice of homemade vegetable frittata and a fabulous side of baby spinach, grape, fennel, walnut and feta salad did not disappoint. We are just visiting in the area but if we were here longer, I would happily make the trip up to Moon Lily again.

After drooling over the marvellous cakes we decided to keep it simple with coffees and blueberry muffins. Coffee - terrific. Blueberry Muffins - to die for. Didn't think I'd ever rave about a simple muffin but boy were they the best! Warm, light (so many can be 'claggy' and heavy), and full of fresh blueberries right through. More please!

We found this cafe by accident when we visited the old gold mining works which was closed due to covid19. Decided to have lunch and stepped in to a warm greeting and welcome from Lucinda(?). Our group of 4 ordered lunch. We had the recommended lamb salad which was very tasty with succulent pieces of marinated lamb and various sides. Then came dessert. We had the best brownies ever! The apple pie was good too. So good was dessert that we were contemplating driving 40km from our accommodation at Launceston the next day just for dessert. Unfortunately we did not have time. We will certainly come again... The next time we ride mtb in Derby.

This is a lovely, well organised and welcoming cafe with delicious and well priced food. We stopped by for lunch and were both starving, but both meals were so hearty we couldn't make space for the cakes (which looked great). My cauliflower fritters were beautifully spiced, and my husband's special (an Argentinian cottage pie concoction with basically a whole extra meal on the side) was exceptional. The cafe was bustling - it's great seeing a business obviously supported by locals - but the owner was doing a good job of maintaining social distancing. I will be back.

Four of us popped in here for coffee en route to Stanley, and had a really great visit. Good coffee, excellent lamb sausage rolls, Tas peanut butter, treatment for a pesky leech bite, as well as directions to the road less travelled. Definitely recommend.

What can I say …. The quality of the food was surprisingly great for such an unpretentious looking place. My wife had one of the specials a ballontine of chicken with pistachio nuts and all sorts of goodies on the plate. I had another special the lamb kofka with humus etc both were simply outstanding and we took away a cheesecake for later. Great selection for vego’s and GF super friendly service with everything made on premises.

We have dined here so many times, travelling from Launceston. Every time has exceeded our expectations. Absolutely everything we've eaten has been stunningly presented, full of flavour, and a unique experience. The staff are beyond gorgeous who have the time to come to your table for a chat despite how busy they are. The menu is small and that is what makes it so good - do something and do it well. There is a selection of sweets and savouries to take away with your coffee. You simply must visit and find out for yourself - hands down beats so many 4 star restaurants.

This cafe has the most delicious food but the best part is the service, the owner really cared for my frail mother and made our lunch truly special. Cant recommend this cafe enough!!! Love this place!

The other day, we visited this cafe for lunch. We were meeting up with friends who lived in the area. They were regulars at this cafe and suggested we eat here. The choices were amazing. There were three specials on offer. One was a dish involving gnocchi and duck (which I had). The other specials were an Iranian lamb dish and a Ukrainian dish based on chick peas. The three regulars and the two visitors were equally satisfied. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.
