Congratulations to the Commercial for their fine food, but especially for their staff. Our waiter Caleb was professional, friendly and obliging, and made our visit very special. He is a credit to your business. Thank you.

We booked room 1, which is a large, well appointed and decorated room with a very comfy bed. It has a balcony overlooking the main street and perhaps the loveliest hotel bathroom we have experienced. The hotel is on the New England Highway and there...was plenty of truck noise during the day but it didnt seem to be a problem at night. And contrary to some of the other reviews, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant. my steak was perfectly cooked and the apple and blackberry crumble was divineMore

The commercial Hotel came highly recommended. We ordered two rob on the bone steaks, one medium rare and one well done. After waiting 35min the steaks were delivered, both well done. Not one member of the staff call by to ask if all was ok....I was not going to request another steak as it would take another 35 min and my partner would have finished her steak long before my second one could be served. I spoke to staff and was told they would tell the chef and manager. I emailed management, and the answer, so bad so sad Not good enoughMore

Hello again Chris As explained to you in our extensive correspondence, if we fall short of customer expectations we do what we can to make it right. However, your approach to the situation was inappropriate from the outset. It’s unfortunate that a staff member didn’t...More

Booked a table for a special occasion and expected friendly service and quality food. Neither was forthcoming. The waitresses were quite rude and not friendly as you would expect in a boutique restaurant. I ordered a bottle of wine which was duly delivered by plonking...the bottle on the table and walking off. We were seated just outside the kitchen and the waitresses could not have stomped or looked more unhappy if they tried. We had steak which was very dry and revolting, I ate about one third and decided it was time to give the manager some feedback. She was very pleasant and offered free deserts which I declined. I simply wanted to convey to her that she should employ staff that wanted to work in the hospitality industry and therefore had a customer focus. The boutique hotel restaurant looks good but it deserves better. In my opinion it is very overrated as it is now.More

Hello Bill I’m very sorry that you were disappointed with your experience. I know my staff well and know that none of them would have been intentionally rude. I assure you I am very careful about the type of characters I allow to work in...More

Perhaps it was the name - Boutique Hotel but I was just expecting more for the price. Yes, the rooms have been refurbished and are a generous size but it lacks the extra touches. Staff were friendly, dinner was good but that was where it...ran out of steam. No option for breakfast which was a shame especially for the room rate. Our room had lovely French style doors that led out to a balcony however these were locked shut on the outside by a fire poker(?) which rattled every time a truck went by through the night. There was no complimentary water, very minimal bathroom amenities and most of the side lamps/floor lamps weren’t working. Basically lots of little things which added up to a these rooms are over priced for what they offer.More

Food was good, service was poor and too casual, main dining room has the ambience and seating plan of a bus station. Not once did anyone proactively seek to get us a drink or take our meal order and it wasn’t that busy and there...was plenty of staff. We had to initiate the contact each and every time to the point it was laughable.More

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise that we didn't service your table appropriately. It seems that we feel short of our own standards of service. Due to the multiple dining spaces being serviced, the impression can be that we are less busy than we...More

We dined here on a Sunday night and needed to book. The venue is a pub more or less converted to a restaurant and accommodation that is more up market. The service was great with the staff being attentive and polite. We ordered chicken Kiev...and a slow cooked beef dish, both were excellent. Will be back to try out some more on the menu.More

This is the place to be to have a good meal in Tenterfield. Without a reservation we were lucky to get a seat. We shared the linguine and a basket of chips ($34.50) and it was more that sufficient. A delicious meal.

We were given a very big recommendation that this was the best eating place in town. Not so. The meals were typical pub food nothing outstanding, the usual deep fried fare. Disappointed!More

I'm sorry you were disappointed. We proudly offer some delicious fried items, as they are very much desired by our clientele. We have less typical fried items such as cauliflower pakora, and also stuffed mushrooms (all made in house). We do not purport to be...More

Central location, easy to get to on foot from motel. Although there quite a few people in the hotel, the spaces were well divided.

That would be a very good idea. We were lucky to get a table as walk-ins a couple of weeks ago (on a Wednesday night). Good luck. The food is good!
