Really impressed with the staff and food. chef was completely available to chat to and listened to my needs then produced a full meal for me. The team were courteous and friendly,chatting with each customer they encountered. Will definitely be back.

At this large club in Lithgow you can get a great lunch at one of the two bistros. The first one is the light meals section and the other is for more substantial meals. We opted for the snack bistro and ordered the beef burger and the grilled chicken burger. Both meals were freshly prepared and came quickly. The beef burger was as good as the old milk bar burgers you used to be able to get. Great meals, great pricing and an enjoyable club atmosphere.

From the front desk to the buffet service all was very good. Good selection of meals and even the roast pork dinner was good (usually not the case in clubs). It was possible to get away from the noisy pokies and prices were fair. Adequate parking across the road. Recommended.

Went to the Workies as an alternative on the way to Mudgee since the superior Lithgow tin shed was booked out. Firstly, the layout and look of the entire place is shabby and resembles a subpar dining experience, would not survive if it were in Sydney. Menu was basic with average looking meals. Did not even try ordering anything extravagant as the standard of the place was already decreasing due to the presentation. I ordered a chicken parmigiana with steamed veggies. The food was bland, tasteless and cringe worthy. I forced my self to take every mouth full and the only reason I was eating was to fulfill my hunger. 0 pleasure at all. I come fro Sydney and the food here could not even match it with the worst. I went with my family of 5 and would rather get Maccas. BE WARNED DO NOT COME HERE. The people eating 5 stars must have low standards of what makes food quality.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us your review, we encourage feedback good or bad it helps manage our business. In response to you comments regarding our layout & look, since reopening on the 1st of June, 2020 after a forced shutdown due to Covid 19 we have had many inspections from Government Authorities, Licencing Police & Environmental Heath, Hygiene & Food Inspectors all giving us a tick of approval and commentating how clean the club is and how great the club looks both front & back of house. These inspectors were both regional and from the Sydney area. During the day of your visit with us we had sold 31 Chicken Parmigianas & 32 Chicken Snitzels with no complaints other than yours. If you let one of our friendly kitchen team members know of your complaint at the time we could resolve the issue in a very timely and efficient manner. We provide between 120 to 250 meals daily under very strict Covid Safe patron numbers & guidelines, with both Parmies & Snitzels being very popular. Here at the Workies our team work very hard at providing excellence in product and service for our members and guests, and receive many accolades for doing so, unfortunately on this occasion we did not meet your standards. Family of 3 had lunch on a Saturday. Moderate crowd and not overly busy. Two of us ordered from the light meals kitchen. One had the pumpkin/tomato/feta melt and the other nachos. The young lady taking our order said it would be ready in “7 mins” Well 30 mins later, and after watching numerous people order and receive their food after our order, I approached to find the melt sitting on the bench, but no nachos. The young lady advised that the nachos was “coming out now”. After another 5 mins, I again asked as the melt was by this stage looking pretty sad and soggy. She said, “It’s a minute and a half away”. Another 5 mins went by, now 40 mins since we ordered two very basic meals. After receiving the meals, the Nachos was inedible as it looked like about 10 corn chips, we counted 5 beans in the meal, some awful tomato sauce, some watery avocado (??) and about half a block of melted cheese. It was not possible to see the meal under the mountain of cheese (noting that cheese was not listed as an ingredient on the menu). It could have been better described as a plate of melted cheese with a few corn chips and beans thrown in. It was the worst Nachos we’ve ever had. The melt wasn’t much better as the pumpkin had soaked into the bread after sitting on the counter for so long. Very tasteless. The 3rd meal was ordered from the bistro (prawn cutlets) with chips and vegetables or salad. We don’t eat chips and I asked for the prawn cutlets with no chips, but could I have half serve of salad and half vegetables with it. The lady serving me said “No, it comes with either salad or vegetables, but you can’t have both” I explained that I didn’t want the chips and she rudely said, “Well we can take the chips off, but you have to pick between salad or vegetables”. Okay, so we just had the veges. The prawns were nothing special and the vegetables were average, but okay. the staff were quite rude, and the young girls working in the light meals kitchen appeared to be too busy talking rather than getting food out. We were very disappointed as we’d been told the Workies was good for lunch. We won’t be back.

We just had my partners 30th birthday in one of the function room at the workies and I could not recommend enough. Great price, lovely staff and could not thank the event coordinator enough ! Karla did an amazing job with communicating and making sure everything was set up and perfect ! She was very helpful and made it less stressful! It was also amazing with the motel attach to the club as our guest had a beautiful stay in the rooms, all guest said the rooms were lovely and clean. Bar staff were great and made sure in the night the drinks continue to flow and had such a great attitude towards the night. We are so blessed to have had such a great experience with everyone involved. Thank you, would definitely recommend and come back again.

Went out for dinner but will never eat at the bistro again. Only tried it again cause someone said there was new chefs but no. Food was disgusting. Taste like it had been made 2 days again and reheated. Cutlets were like rubber. The place would go off it they had people that knew how to cook. Very disappointed.

Meat was salty and over cooked. The Veges had been prepared a lot earlier and were luke warm. Expected much better for $30 mains.
The cafe section was equally bad. Tired looking cakes in the display cabinet and average coffee.

Just on our way home and glad we stopped for lunch here. It’s COVID time and the staff here are certainly on the ball. They are so on top of cleanliness and correct protocols on arrival and departure. Meals great variety and generous servings. Good wine list as well. Definitely recommend.

checked into Lithgow WorkiesClub 16th June, great accomodate,reasonable rates, more than 4 star, friendly staff, they offer breakfast, dinner, bar etc.
A plus for me 2 Tesla charges, close to shops, cafe, quiet town, still has everything, lots of places to check out i.e. Australian heritage. Have booked again.
