Apart from the food was not hot, the vegetables were not cooked. We waited along time for the food as our buzzer wasn’t working. The food was presented well.
Unfortunately the bistro smelt of old tobacco.
The bar attendant was very cheerful.

We went at lunch time to the Bistro for a meal when we visited Gunnedah for a day.
Choices were good - catering for all family needs.
The Jack's Rump steak was terrific.
Mediterranean Salad was good and the Chicken Schnitzel was very much enjoyed.
Chips, with the steak were great too.

What a great little Hotel the outside courtyard was a great place to have a meal. Totally recommend the chicken wings

Recently had a family meal here in the bistro with 5 adults, 3 pizzas, 1 snitty and some chilli fries. There was a fair bit of sharing going on and everyone was pretty satisfied with the quality of the food and the surroundings and none of us went hungry as the portion sizes were pretty generous. Food was well priced and drinks as you’d expect, neither cheap nor expensive but a reasonable range on offer, especially if you don’t drink lager.
We ate in the open-air garden out the back which has an open roof but the walls still provided some protection from the winds so it was a really comfortable. Later on, we moved indoors to the sofas for another couple of drinks. This place has a really good mix of different indoor and outdoor dining and drinking spaces and the staff at both the food servery and the bar areas were very helpful and accommodating.

A group of about 20 of us met for dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant was so hot it was unbearable and management said that they couldn't turn airconditioner on because they didn't work. Patrons asked management to open windows and doors but they refused until people started complaining. Some of our family members waited for around 90 minutes for meals and then couldn't eat the food because it was so bad. I ordered rump but the meal I was served had a rounded piece of meat that tasted bitter and was almost raw and bleeding over my chips. Some patrons complained and got their money back, I didn't but I wish I had. I left hungry. The staff were rude and the worst staff member of all was the female manager, who was rude to everyone. I asked for ice on my wine glass and she gave me a separate glass of ice which I had to put into my wine glass. I will never go back and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favour and give thus place a miss.

The kids loved the Pizza and pasta. The wife said the steak was the best she had in a long time. Staff were great and and really nice environment. Will definitely come back for honest good food.

We'd heard this pub serves good meals . After a family night out for a meal we found this couldn't be further from the truth. The steak was green .... unlike the salad. The other meals were very poor quality .

this is a new restaurant in a well restored old hotel. But the meals might be a bit slow but really worth waiting for. Serious food, a good wine list and willing wait staff. Put it on your list of must go

i wont be going back again,a can of coke cost me $6 even a bar staff said it was too dear plus a friend and i had a steak sandwich and the bread was like eating a rock ,i wouldn't recommend it

The bistro food is fabulous!!
We went for the “signature Asian” what a taste sensation!!!

Sitting in the outside eating area with a view of the chaotic kitchen was in itself worth watching. Forty-five minutes after ordering, with our meals visibly resting under the warming lights, we were rewarded with a view of the chef moving items between plates apparently trying to match up between plates what was ordered!
When served, and thanks to resting under heat lamps and being shuffled between plates, the steaks were dry, overcooked, and cold.

Our accommodation hosts recommended the Gunnedah Hotel for a good evening meal.
Both the Chicken schnitzel and the Pulled Pork Nachos were overcooked, dry, and burnt around the edges.

Very delicious food the whole family loved and the two dozen fresh Sydney rock oysters where sweet as with creamy Panna cotta for desert.
All served by happy helpful staff.

Had dinner and drinks in the beautiful Vita courtyard - amazing! Lovely food (especially the Oso Bucco), super friendly staff, quality wine list - and that courtyard, sensational - so nice to be able to sit under the shade of old olive trees in a beautifully designed space. Newly renovated, this is the place I’ve always hoped for in Gunnedah!
