Lovely service and friendly staff. The food was unfortunately not particularly tasty. It lacked flavour and needed some seasoning. We had a King prawn omelette, fried rice, san choi bau as well as prawn toasts. The quantity was great though.

The food at the restaurant is excellent and the service is old country style friendly, relaxing and professional. Expect a little delay because during peak times it can get fairly busy.

The restaurant is decorated in typical Chinese decorations and is quiet large in size.
Service is fast and pleasant and servings are quiet large and tasty.
The fried ice-cream is delicious and my favorite.
Have a meal plate to yourself or share amongst friends, the restaurant caters for shared meals.
Reasonably prices and popular on weekends.

The Chinese food was terrible. It had no flavour and tasted cheap. It didn’t even taste like real Chinese food.
I ordered 2 dishes and only got 1. They refused to give us our other dish because they put in extra spring rolls which we didn’t order.
I’m never going back there. Terrible food and terrible service.

Happy Valley is our favourite Chinese Restaurant in Gunnedah. Fast and efficient service wit a smile. It is also good value. Highly Recommend is to visitors and locals alike.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food. There was heaps of it. The sizzling platters are highly recommended because it’s pretty cold in Gunnedah at night and the plates cool down quickly.
Tge service was good too.

Staff (owners ?) were friendly, quick service, shame about the food. Had takeaway lunch special - Mongolian beef. Beef was tough & chewy, mostly onion,no other veggie in sight. Container just over half full which was ok because I didn't eat it anyway. Not sure what was in the spring rolls, took one bite.

We ordered take away...told me 15 minute wait...
it took 55 minutes and was only just warm when we drove the 3 mins to our accomodation.
Not sure why the hold up with our food.... but it was not worth the wait.. obviously they had ours cooked and maybe left it sitting while they tendered to eat in customers.
Food was salty and the meals comprised mostly of sauce.
disappointed.

Happy Valley never fails to impress. The food is the best Chinese we have eaten. Always ready to customise the food to the individual’s taste & presentation needs. This restaurant is a huge asset to the town of Gunnedah

We have eaten here before. The restaurant is located at the end of the CBD in the main street, relatively close to a few motels. Inside the decor is a little bland, but the waitress and owner seemed very nice.
The Spring Rolls were particularly good - they were not your stick standard frozen ones that most Chinese Restaurants seem to have, these were made on site.

This restaurant produces top quality Chinese cuisine/ The service by waitresses Beck and Katie cannot be surpassed. There knowledge of all aspects of the cuisine provided an excellent evening meal authentic Chinese with quality ingredients.

This restaurant is one of a couple that are in the town and in my opinion this is the best and I'm sure other would agree. As it was Agquip week and I was traveling alone I decided to have takeaway the service was fast and the quality of the food was great.

It's good reliable Chinese like you remember from the 1980s. I just wish that the menu could evolve a little to match modern, changing tastes. A little stir fried buk chop (or other greens), a hero dish and string chef's recommendation.
This is a well run family business and always reliable. I'd love them to give me something unexpected.

This restaurant has been transported from the 70's, maybe the 80's. The walls are clinical, no colour or dragons, simply light blue and clinical.
However the food was ok, if uninspiring.
I'd eat here again if I had to, but I'd probably try somewhere else next time.
