Shot down to Gunny from Narrabri for a meal at Services. Ordered spring rolls, garlic bread, Cesar salad, lamb shank, seafood basket and a seafood pizza.
Let’s start with the “seafood” pizza. A few prawns on top does not qualify it to be a seafood pizza. How about some scallops, mussels, fish and other yummy things, but these items then become the hero’s of the pizza, not the gallon of cheese that was put on top. The seafood basket was one of the worst I have had, seafood sticks cut up and deep fried?? Really?? A very average fish fillet direct from Coles and a few prawns crumbed and chips. The best course was the lamb shank. Nice serving with mashed potato and the meat falling off the shank. Serving staff were friendly and helpful.

We have been to the club a few times for lunch and dinner over the last six months and even with Covid restrictions the club is able to provide a great atmosphere for a casual lunch or dinner. Great for families.
The club took advantage of Covid shutdown to improve some areas of the club with new carpet and bar furniture.
This week after a busy morning we decide to have Sunday lunch at the club.
Five meals and everyone was happy with their choices - beer battered fish, works burger, chicken schnitzel, pizza and salt and pepper squid.
The club’s salt and pepper squid is a great option - lightly dusted not heavy crumb and deep fried that you find elsewhere.
The staff are excellent and very welcoming and friendly. They look after the regulars and I was touched when we were having our lunch to observe how much care they took to listen and chat with regulars in for lunch. They really care about their customers.

The meals are a hit and miss here.Nice food one day, not so nice the next.We had burgers and the chips came out room temperature, they should have been cooked fresh.The burgers were ordinary.Why not just use normal buns instead if these horrible ones? We have tried some of the Asian food and a some are the best around.As for the gravy, absolutely revolting, this has been the case in a very long time, it needs to be changed.A lovely club just needs to get the food right.

Hailed as a great dinner spot, our family of 4 adults headed there. The extensive menu was not backed up by quality.
The special “Chicken Briyani” was so overcooked and dry it needed a double serving of minted yoghurt dressing. When my guest asked for another dish of minted yoghurt, she was given a thimbleful.
I had roast, the beef had so much fat on it I wondered if the chef was on a cholesterol positive mission!
Another had the seafood basket. It was a basket of breadcrumbs, some cooked and some not cooked at all.
Fortunately we will never have to return.

After travelling from Brisbane we arrived in Gunnedah around 8PM about 30mins from closing. We asked if the restaurant was open and was told they were almost closing up but the manager said that we could have some roast and other foods to satisfy our craving. I felt this club saved us from being hungry and we were made us so welcoming. The food was excellent and service was outstanding and I highly recommend it. We have since returned for thew same quality and service

This recently renovated venue is light and airy, unusual for an RSL. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the meals were large, excellent quality and the right price.
A great place for a cold beer and a good feed.

We visited for one night. The reception was warm and helpful. The food at the bistro was super. The manager at the bistro went the extra mile to help as my wife is gluten free. The food was excellent and well presented. Go if you are in town.

Cheesy garlic bread was spectacular.Entree garlic prawns were juicy and filling and come with a healthy portion of rice. Food was ready quickly. Steak cooked properly. Mushroom sauce was good. Pizza was packed but soft. Seating was a bit hard. Peas were bad.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and we had Baked Dinner (wife loved it) and I had Salmon Rissoles. Great value, great place as were on the way to Tamworth and this was quick service with great value on a Saturday.
