Our first visit but not our last. Excellent meal. The rump steak with veges was cooked medium rare as requested and the linguini with prawns and chilli was delicious. Very good value.

Called into The Railway Hotel, Gunnedah around 1pm for lunch in the Bistro with 4 Family members.
Faith behind the bar organised our drinks and meals following a friendly welcome to the Pub.
We ordered 3 seniors meals at $12 each, fish, chips and salad $16 and chicken tacos $20. All meals were cooked perfectly and brought to our table.
Everyone said how much they enjoyed their meals and asked Faith to advise the kitchen accordingly.
Look forward to our return.

Go one block away from main street to find Railway Hotel. Pleasant, no fuss surroundings with very good menu. Fried or grilled barramundi $22, Tbone steak $36 with garlic prawn side dish $10 Inc. veges/chips. Very happy with meals. Happy hour gave us $5 glass of wine.

Stopped for dinner tonight at the Railway Hotel. A work colleague recommended the venue when I was leaving work and travelling home. I usually stop at the RSL, which has been quick and consistently good, but nothing special!
I ordered and waited for 40 to 45 minutes for my meal and when the lamb chops, mash and vegies arrived it was cold, the fat was pooling on top of the chops and everything else was cold. The meal was cooked perfectly! probably half an hour ago. I was thinking of asking to have it put in the microwave for a minute.
Not a good experience and won't be back again.

Had an unforgettable dinner night with family and friends at the Railway Hotel in Gunnedah! 🍽️
The food here is absolutely top-notch. We devoured everything from mouthwatering steaks to flavorful vegetarian options, and each dish left us craving for more.
But what truly made our night exceptional was the friendly and attentive service. The staff made us feel right at home, and their recommendations were spot on.
If you're in Gunnedah and looking for a fantastic dinner spot, the Railway Hotel is the place to be.

The family went for a night out, first time having the whole family together in a few years, firstly the staff, very friendly, helpful, and polite, the nicest we have met in a long time, next the food, WOW the extensive menu was not only pleasing to the eye but the food itself was brilliant, as we had 15 of us there, we were all able to choose something different, the steaks were amazing, burgers great, they had a price to suit everyone, finally the beer and wine list, we had so many of each to choose from catering for all tastes.
I would recommend this venue to anyone visiting Gunnedah and we will definitely be going back there the next time we visit the family again.
The Railway Hotel is a pub that caters for all, I noticed that they even have a playground catering for families with kids as well, a great all round pub.

An unexpected pleasure to share lunch with family. We had expected poor service and quality food after our previous 2 days in the town. But, we were pleasantly surprised to see the fabulous food delivered consistently and timely to our group of seven.
Every guest (at our table) enjoyed a high quality meal, all exclaiming their surprise and happiness at their meal. The price was reasonable and affordable.

Been to Gunnedah many times and always stop at the Railway Hotel for a feed it’s your typical country pub and never disappoints.
Recently undergone some renovation and looks like more work to be done but we will keep coming back.
Suitable for large or small groups and kids as well.
Good size meals can cut your steak with a butter knife and the hollandaise sauce is to die for 😋

A delicious country-style meal was enjoyed by all of us. The menu choice was very good and the food did not disappoint. We enjoyed some excellent country beef and tender, large-size lamb cutlets. The service was excellent from the warm and welcoming staff.

Passing through town, quick google search for a spot to stop for lunch with the family where I came across The Railway Hotel and thought we’d give it a try.
Absolutely delighted with choosing to go there, the meals were absolutely delicious and the partners steak was spot on. The kids were also entertained with the playground out the back!
Looks like they’re also renovating so we will be calling back in there the next time we come through Gunnedah to grab a feed and see how the renovations come up.

Beautifully renovated beer garden and the food was as tasty and reasonably priced. This is a true family pub with a kids' playground and little people running around enjoying themselves. And Paige the manager gave me a free drink because Quote "I was alright on the eyes" Thanks for pumping up my tyres.

This place is absolutely to die for! I dropped in on my motorcycle for lunch the other day and tried their halloumi burger! So delicious! One of the best I’ve had. And the lovely bar staff, catered to all my needs and were very friendly and all were smiling.

We ordered our mains over 1 hour 10 mins ago and still not done. Eventually they arrived. Ribs were of poor quality. Won't be coming back here.

There seemed to be a couple of dining areas at the Railway Hotel and neither had a lot of charm, being very brightly lit and dominated by big TV screens. But this is more than made up for by the quality (as well as the size) of their meals. I had the hickory lamb board ('from the smoker') and it was excellent. The lamb was tender and tasty and the meal came with - among other sides - sweet corn, sweet potato chips, coleslaw, a couple of hunks of garlic bread and its own little pot of macaroni cheese. It was huge - and all good. I finished it all. My partner had a steak, and was very happy with that - cooked exactly as requested and sauce served on the side.
