The Coopers Tavern is like a snapshot of Burton brewing history. Lots of choice of Beer, the Bass in my opinion is particularly good and served straight from the barrel which is interesting (well I think so). Also, cheap cobs and pork pies etc which...More

Historic cosy pub. Good friendly service. Very well kept ales, Joules brewery mainly. Unpretentious. Don't know if food offered but definitely enjoyed the Joules Blonde beer.

The Coopers is an institution. Dating back to 1776 it's the must-go place in the brewing capital of the world. It's what pubs were like before the'suits' started interfering. Apart from a cheese board (good) or pork pies (even better) you won't eat at The...More

This is a great lovely clean real ale house. Has undergone a bit of a refurb but has managed to keep its atmosphere. Great ales especially the Slumbering Monk which is aptly named as after a few of those you will slumber!

What a wonderful old pub! 10 or so beers straight from the barrels in the tap room. We sat in one of the front rooms drinking Bass at £3.20 a pint and listening to a group of friends all seated round one of the long...More

Congratulations to the new management! A really sympathetic refurb of a very traditional boozer and Burton landmark. The two new extended rooms work a treat and the beers remain as you'd expect from a leading real ale pub.

Lovely little pub not far from the train station and the national brewery centre. This is how pubs should be! Nice and snug and offering a wide range of ales and many different spirits. The cheese board we ordered was more than we expected! And...More

A must visit in Burton; the recent refurb by Joules has been sympathetically done and not detracted from the character of this gem - as ever wonderful beer and the cosy layout encourages conversation with strangers.
