We visited on a busy Saturday evening, we felt it was very safe and the owners had done a good job at making a small pub covid friendly. We had a baked camambert which was divine followed by the rump of lamb which was delicious....My partner had ribs which were great, all homemade and very tasty. We also visited the ship down on the weir for a light lunch, as good as this one. Same owners and similar menus but not the same :)More

Excellent food at the lower ship, Porlock Weir. So good I went twice. Lovely setting and great log fire. Fitted me in twice during covid without a booking despite them being busy.

What a great little find. We booked in advance and following a walk in Porlock Weir, had a wonderful lunch. Great food, loved my fish and chips (great tartar sauce which tasted like it was home made), delicious burger for my husband and good sized...kids portions, filled our hungry 9&11yr olds. Service was just as good and they have the appropriate socially distance rules in place without it feeling too different. Would recommend and also be back when next down this way.More

This was our first visit to The Ship since the Covid-19 restrictions were put in place. We felt safe and at ease. As always, there was a warm atmosphere and the service was friendly, efficient and entertaining! The food was excellent. Three of us had...different mains and desserts and we were all happy with our choices - Duck Breast, Homemade Burger and Lamb Chops, followed by Baileys Tiramisu, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Three Chocolate Mousse. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and we hope to eat there again very soon.More

Very busy but the service was really good, the food good too and overall good value. Surprised by how big the place is.

Four of us had a comfortable table near the wood burning fire. Met by a very enthusiastic waiter, James, lead to our table. All Covid compliant. Lovely menu , a cut above the rest. Tasty starters eg Duck confit leg Bon Bon’s. The steaks were...cooked perfectly. Great beers and wines. In fact we revisited five times whilst at Porlock, partly because it is such a comfortable place and we made use of their WiFi!More

Good size rooms clean and comfortable. Only down side...was the shower curtain that clings to you when having a shower.More
