We were staying at local caravan park and went here for lunch with some friends.Food was excellent and the service from young girl who was also running the bar was exceptional and she was very thoughtful and polite. We have been here before in October 2016 and will certainly be returning on our next visit to Porlock

Popped into the Castle for a few drinks whilst staying at a local caravan park in my tourer. The staff were extremely friendly and informative about the local area. Although I did not eat on this occasion... the menu did look good and relatively cheap. Would recommend this place for a visit. Thanks 😎

After an odd experience in the Royal oak (same town) we chose this place to eat as we were by now very hungry. Place was completely empty aside from the beer garden but it may have been post mothers day rush. The castle is decked out with sofas and a library. Whilst comfortable and perhaps purposeful locally, the place struggles... More

This pub served great honest pub grub with sizeable portions. My pie was wonderful with its own separate pot of gravy. Dogs are made welcome and there's an eclectic mix of both tables and lounging sofas with masses of books around the walls (to read at your leisure) and a separate play room for the kids.

Popped in for dinner and we both ordered fish and chips, when the food came the fish was virtually none existent and the batter had a slimy texture to it. We sent the food back and nearly 30 minutes later the same dish came back in a worse state than the the first time so was not impressed. The barman... More

Beautiful Village with lots of quirky shops and history. In December the Village business participate in decorating a Santa makes walking through and spotting fun. Castle appeared a little tired but it was very quiet. Staff Uniforms very casual Food mediocre
