Four of us met for lunch. The pub is very attractive both inside and out and beautifully furnished. The staff, puddings and coffee are all good but our main courses - except the fish and chips were very disappointing. Two of us had the pubs platter comprising a mini fish cake and a mini burger. One of us had a... More

In spite of having the least navigable of websites we took Sawday's and the Good Pub Guide's advice and booked ahead for a room. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable, the bar friendly and the food as good as we hoped. We would certainly return here.

There are so many restaurant/pub awards now, it's beyond confusing. Maybe there are more awards than restaurants! The Lord Poulett Arms has more than it's fair share of awards (the latest is to be named as one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Restaurants), so it was with some anticipation that we arrived for Sunday Lunch. As soon as you... More

Visited this pub with my wife on a Monday based on its reputation and other reviews. We were not disappointed. This is an unusual pub in the centre of this Somerset village. As others have said the menu is unusual to the point of being eccentric. However the quality is excellence and the chips that accompanied my sandwich and my... More

This pub is a lovely place to visit as it is set in a very pretty quiet village. There are open fires and a good ambience. Service was excellent as was the beer. I found the food rather "over the top" as some others have said. I would have preferred more simple dishes. This however did not spoil the experience... More

Arrived mid afternoon in sleepy Somerset village to find a traditional but unique pub hotel and restaurant. Every room is decorated differently and has its own character. The restaurant offers a wide choice of locally sourced dishes in a comfortable and atmospheric surroundings with friendly service and good wine list.

The outside of this building blends flawlessly with it's surroundings and could easily be driven by, once inside we were greeted with the welcoming smell of log fires which along with the wonderfully comforting atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent real ale and a menu with good choice made for a very pleasant lunch. We will be sure to drop in again... More

Came for an early dinner with my husband and 9 month old daughter. Even though we hadn't booked the bar staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome by accommodating us at a table and went out of their way to make the high chair comfortably arranged. Food was super delicious, we shared the wild boar to start and... More

You can't fault this pub for ambience and service but the food really has gone down hill. On first glance the menu appears really impressive, but on further inspection you start to rule out many of the dishes as they are just too over the top (fried schnitzel, fried egg and fried chips as an example). The chef needs to... More

Huge open fire, relaxed friendly atmosphere, in the most stunning of villages. The food is exquisitely prepared and presented. Beautiful but not stuffy, homely but plush, one of the best places we have eaten outside of London.
