Great little pub with lots of character, dog friendly and cosy when the fires going. Not the biggest pub so when busy it's not the quickest place to be served, but good beers and good surroundings make it worthwhile.

My son has just moved into the area for a new job. My son and wife had used the Wheatsheaf a few weeks ago when looking for property. The burgers are home made and tasted just like those i make at home. Bar staff outstanding friendly and polite. If you like good beer you will love this pub, the Banks... More

Visited the Weatsheaf November last year and was very impressed. Its a great quirky, cozy and very friendly old style pub. Great staff and very well kept ale, whats not to like. My wife and I look forward to our next enjoyable visit. A quiet drink,a fun night out or just a filled roll and a pint at lunch, you wont find better.

Dropped in to try out the ales. Two sets of four pumps with six ales on. Tried Sunbeam which is a favourite. Good taste!

We chose this venue as we were struggling to find somewhere willing to accommodate a dog inside of the premises, not just the beer garden. The owners welcomed our party of 6 plus a pooch and had set us a table where we felt really comfortable. We hadn't been before and we were entertaining relatives who were on their way... More

Nice old traditional pub with lots of character. Original beams and joists, friendly welcoming staff and good ale on tap. We were having late lunch and this turned out pretty good too and excellent value. Would come again.

My friend and I met at the Wheatsheaf for lunch today. I had the lasagne which was delicious and was served with a fresh crispy salad and garlic bread. My friend had the scampi with chips and garden peas which was also very lovely. It's a gorgeous traditional pub with low beams and open fires. The staff are really friendly... More
