After 5 Miles of local walking, taking in the edge of the nearby Staveley nature reserve, the Market Menu lunch option proved sufficient for our needs and excellent value. For lovers of game the specials, and main menu are a delight.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed the visit overall. Felt let down by being served a cold sausage at breakfast as generally the food was very good.

A lovely dining room with oodles of atmosphere. Very good menu with excellent sea food choices. My seared sword fish was well last its best, but the rest of dinner was very good. An extensive wine list with good wines at reasonable prices.

Carole and I called in for a quiet dinner on Sunday evening. It was a very long time since we had visited the General Tarleton but it was even better than we remembered. We shared a Northumberland Crab Lasagne to start. Delicious - pasta light...More

Hello, I'm sorry but I didn't notice on the menu for sure. I think there was a choice of pasta but not certain. On both occasions I visited the restaurant it was a flying visit on route driving South. This is the telephone... More
