We were booked for 8.30 on Saturday evening. Too late for the tasting menu but no problem as this is made clear on their website. We both had the hake starter, followed by the fish of the day, turbot. Both pieces of fish were excellent and portions were pretty generous. My wife wasn't so keen on her rice pudding dessert... Not been for ages. My mistake. Will certainly be going back. Fixed price three course Sunday Lunch at £29.95. A bargain. Could not fault it. Three choices for each course so bound to be something you like. I had the Seafood Gratin. A large open shell filled with local fish and a cheese topping. The two small fresh bread rolls... More

This is one of our favourite places to eat. We recently took a couple of Freemason virgins and they were suitably impressed. The food is as good as ever or possibly better and the service we have experienced lately has been fantastic. Still great value with the Sunday lunch at £29.95 for 3 courses. The ever changing seasonal menus are... More

We visit the Freemasons again and again for exceptional food and wonderful service. Lovely atmosphere and dinner by the fire! The pictures speak for themselves... Lobster wontons, haddock soup & fish finger hot dog, suckling pig, brown butter shrimp turbot, amalfi lemon and "treats" - cinnamon salted caramel doughnuts and pistachio macarons... wow!

My sister dined here a year ago whilst on her travels so bought us vouchers for xmas. I'm not familiar with the area so had never heard of it. We stayed in a nearby village and got a taxi here as it's tucked away and easily missed in a tiny village. We arrived early and were greeted with a very... More

5 family members went for a late Sunday lunch. Food was absolutely superb. I had roasted leek and smoked haddock soup which was an intriguing texture and amazing taste. The accompanying bread was gorgeous! We all had the roast beef which was tender and tasty but just enough. I then had the cheese platter. OMG. What a selection. My favourite... More

Visited for Sunday lunch. Great surprise having thought we knew all the local good dining places. Excellent fixed lunch menu or a la carte. Inventive dishes of high quality. Excellent ambience and service. If you enjoy a wine list, you'll like this place. Not cheap, but all round good value for money. Next visit will be dinner experience.

This is a mixed review but honest & I hope fair. . First of all it's off the country B road up a stoney off road but only a few yards. When your sat Nav says you've arrived - you will have, look up this stoney road & you will see the overhead sign. I would suggest that if you... More

Came here on Sunday afternoon for a roast dinner with my wife and parents! Loved every mouthful! Sat upstairs on a table of 4 amongst the deer heads on the wall, my wife wasn't too keen but I liked the look of it. Soup and ready to start, roast beef with all the trimmings, followed by a chocolate pudding! All... More
