Very busy Saturday night. Service was a little slow but they were busy. Food looked beautiful and tasted delicious. I ate Seabass with lemon & thyme sauce, crushed potatoes and carrots/mange tout. Prices were about right for the meals we got. Every where was clean & tidy, loo spotless. Outside area looked nice and planters looked lovely. Over charged on... More

I don't often review a place more than once but the Lower Buck is worthy of it. It's just a lovely pub, quirky with cosy rooms, spotlessly clean yet characterful and just has an overall good vibe about the place. The food is always excellent as are the real ales, staff are friendly and efficient, prices are very reasonable and... More

Recently booked the Lower Buck for a family get together. From the very first, Ollie and his staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We were a large party and had not pre-booked the food as you have to do in some places. Nevertheless, all the orders came together and was tasty & piping hot. The prices are... More

Called here for lunch the other day and had some of the best fish and chips we have tasted for a long time. Nice light batter, lovely flakey haddock, great chips and mushy peas. This accompanied by a well kept pint of bitter made for an ideal lunch. Our compliments to the chef and staff.

Been to other pubs in the area, though to give this a try. Parking will be a challange when the pub is busy but we got there just after noon and got parking in the road 50 yards or so from the pub. Lovely old building, a number of separate rooms, many with small coal fires, very nice. Dog friendly... More

Thank you for your review. We are very glad to hear you enjoyed our homemade leek and ham pie and homemade quiche, our chefs work hard in the kitchen and its lovely to hear your commendation. This has been passed on to the chefs. Parking can be a little trick in Waddington, there is the village park down the lane... More

We were on holiday nearby and had read the reviews about the area. We enjoyed a Sunday roast. We managed to get a table without to much of a wait. Although just after we sat down people were turned away as they were fully booked. I would definitely visit again if we return to the area.

This is a traditional pub with no televisions or gaming machines or juke box, a place for eating ,drinking and talking. It was a pity that 3 of the 4 pies on offer were not available and neither was the quiche. We still enjoyed our lunches and the ambience was as important as he food

Comfy inviting choices of seating, free papers available. Waited almost an hour for the food on this busy day but was easily worth it, roast dinner was enormous and absolutely tasty. At last I think we have a non chain eatery in the Clitheroe area that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't and hide behind famous names and big marketing budgets. It's a beautiful, traditional village pub, of the variety that is much threatened by over development by "gastro chains" and under use. We visited mid week at about six.... More
