Went for a Sunday lunch with friends, the welcome was good and the food wasn't bad either. We ordered the roast beef and whilst I accept that beef is good rare, this was actually almost raw, it was very difficult to cut let alone eat! The heating didn't seem to be working in the restaurant area either and it was... More

The second you walk into this wonderfully restored pub you get the sense that despite it's slight modernisation in the restaurant area, it has managed to keep all of it's original charm. The open log fire and original bar area are lovely and there is a good selection of beers and ales on tap! Virtually faultless birthday meal at a... More

Came across this little gem by mistake, what a find lunch fab sat in front of a open fire. We visited at 1.30pm on a Wednesday lunch time and it was full, not many places like that during the week. Service was good very attentive and friendly.

We were welcomed so warmly when we arrived I assumed the barmaid knew us! What a lovely start to our Sunday lunch. We had our boisterous toddler with us but were welcomed regardless (😉) Food was lovely and plentiful (we all had roast beef). Lemon posset for pudding was especially lovely. Service was quick and attentive and very friendly. We... More

My fiancé and I dined here a few days ago- we were celebrating our Anniversary. We were staying at Elvey Farm but decided to dine here on a recommendation from one of the staff at the hotel...and we are so glad we did! Food was excellent, service impeccable and great value for money. We were given a warm welcome by... More

We recently moved to the area and read good things about the Rose and Crown and I am pleased to say that they are all true. My wife and I popped in for lunch and luckily we were one of the first there as there wasn't a table in the house by the time we left. I had the ham,... More
