We stopped here on our way to France, via the Eurotunnel. Recently refurbished, traditional coaching house rooms. light and airy pub, with a small but interesting menu - I had a seafood stew, which was very nice. Beer well kept, and breakfast cooked to order. I would come back.

Popped in The Red Lion in the hope of an early evening meal and what a surprise we had. Great selection of freshly prepared tasty food. Pies were gorgeous and traditional flavours. Fish dishes very tasty and we had a lovely lady waiting on us which topped off the evening. Very nice ambience and all patrons around us seemed to... More

Lovely lunch. Even the salad with the meal was tasty. Very kind staff. Made you feel very welcome. One good bonus was our dog was allowed in the bar area.

Been today for Sunday lunch, faultless. The food was good, hot and plentiful. Very reasonably priced and good service. The table near us had a family of four with a young baby, as is often the case baby wasn't cooperating, mum took the baby outside to settle it and the others ate their lunch. When mum returned they had finished... More

Came in for some lunch and the male working who I'm guessing was the new manager was so welcoming and made you feel very comfortable in the restaurant. The food was amazing and so fresh ,and very reasonably priced .Will 100% be returning and has becoming my new favourite in hythe :)

We've had several meals here over the years and all very tasty - as is the beer. I believe from my ghost books that there is also supposed to be other kinds of spirits (a WW2 bus conductor?) who people have seen at the bar? But don't take that as read, make your own mind up if you dare. But... More

Popped in for lunch with my partner and young son. Staff were very friendly and helpful, quickly bringing a high-chair for the boy. We sat in the lovely enclosed garden at the rear and had a tasty and good value lunch. The ploughmans in particular was excellent. It included one of the best scotch eggs I've ever had. The beer...
