Very busy day, first sunny weekend of the year but no excuse to serve overcooked food. Waited 50 minutes for a small skate wing, so overcooked it was inedible. On a busy day find somewhere else.

We have visited the Ethelbert a few times and have always enjoyed the meals here. Lovely welcoming pub in a great location with friendly staff. We would definitely recommend.

We regularly eat in the evening there. I think we have been in anytime from say 6 till 9pm and been served.
