We visited Reculver near Herne Bay to take our dog for a walk in the sunshine and visited the King Elthelbert for lunch. First time visit but certainly not the last. Steak and ale pie and Omelette were lovely and we sat out on the terrace. Dogs are welcome both in and outside. Friendly staff and local regular customers.

Firstly, this is my second review of the Ethelbert, and just like my first, I'm full of praise. Lovely pub, great staff, good atmosphere, well priced food and generous portions. I'm a huge fan. We visit at least once or twice a month. Here comes the "But". On our last visit, the whole meal was plagued by flies. I've no... More

We popped in here for a drink whilst exploring the Reculver Ruins. Nothing much to shout about. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Average.

We visited this pub for lunch as we were in need of food after a walk along the front. We found it to be very friendly, and busy, and this us probably because the food here is decent. Nothing super special, but good, honest pub food well cooked and with a nice selection as standard, plus a daily specials board.... More
